Date specific skins

I think I'm going to ask for something that has been requested many times before, but......

 

@Wardog5711  could you please ask the dev team if they could consider making AI vehicle skins date dependent, as well as season dependent? It really drives me crazy seeing grey German sdkfz 251 halftracks, trucks and guns in 1944!! Also we can't use the sdkfz 222 armored car in 1942 scenarios without it looking stupidly out of place in it's dark yellow skin. 

 

The advantage is it would significantly improve first impressions for your average tank crew curious tank nut like me. I was rather shocked when I played the campaigns and saw all those grey vehicles on the Prokhorovka battlefield. Tank nuts like me know orders were issued in late spring 1943 to repaint everything with the dark yellow base colour + cammo

 

Another option might be to unlock user skinning on the AI only vehicles. This might be less work for the team in the end, less likely to fix that 1st impressions problem though.

Here Here, Leady!!  I for one would love to have the Normandy Panther Skin Cammo's available in the Official skin folder in the game.  They are superior to the current official Panzer skins and within historically acceptable guidelines.   Official skins, in general, are not a strength for TC.....which is sad because there are so many excellent, free, user skins which are "low hanging fruit" - one would assume - for the Dev Team.

I third the motion!!!    yellow German tanks stick out like a sore thumb in spring western maps!   Please can we get some official skins in various colors!!!

Any discussion of “skins” for TC is a touchy subject.  Simply put, all our requests to address this issue have been completely ignored.  Completely!! 
However, there are some mods here in the TC forum and over in the Main forum MODS section that will repaint some - not all - of the AI vehicles.  You might explore those and see if they meet your needs.  If not, then I’m afraid that your screwed right along with the rest of us.

Yes I have seen that glorious mod, however, I'm scared that if I install it I will no longer be able to play on multiplayer servers?

 

Recently a bunch of the people I fly with have been booted from Finnish for having a "modded" game, even though they didn't have modded games.
