Rickrick123 Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Why are the guns on panzer 4 going into a battle with the barrel stuck pointing upwards. The Tiger is now doing the same. ?????????? Any one know. ? 2 1
Carl_infar Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 unlock the gun, check your bindings for it
1CGS Regingrave- Posted February 16, 2023 1CGS Posted February 16, 2023 AI tank crews keep their guns in travel position whenever they don't engage targets, to keep aiming mechanisms from damage. 1
MajorMagee Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Travel Lock protected the Main Gun Elevating Mechanism, and Sight Alignment when moving over rough terrain. For some tanks it's an external mechanism that, for crew safety, needs to be unlocked well before there is any risk of coming under fire. For others it can be done from inside, closer to when you're actually going to be engaged. The command in game is typically "t"

There is still the problem that the gun is logging when it is not wanted. There should be a away to disable the logging by AI. It is a big issue when in german tanks the gun suddenly moves itself during combat. Edited February 16, 2023 by JG27_Steini 1
ShampooX Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 If it helps to know I have been playing over two years and always take the PZ4 Turret/Barrel out of lock before I leave the spawn. And I never relock it....and I have never had one single problem with it traveling around all game while unlocked. Now some might say "how do I get that dang electrical engine noise to stop while I'm sitting engine-off in the woods without re-locking the barrel?" Simple: just leave the barrel unlocked, pop the gunner hatch and in about 30 seconds that annoying little motor shuts off and you can hear much better. You'll hear the enmy way before you see him so just pop that gunner back into the turret, the turret/barrel is already unlocked, and you're all set. 1

I think it's a bit like Russian roulette TC bugs, we all experience different bugs (except that here, the barrel is loaded with 4 bullets...) 21 hours ago, ShampooActual said: Now some might say "how do I get that dang electrical engine noise to stop while I'm sitting engine-off in the woods without re-locking the barrel?" It is the main reason, why I am not interested in playing TC anymore. If a player wants to play with AI crew, he can feel free to activate it by engaging the autopilot in driver position and going to commander position. But if I don't activate the autopilot, I want to use the tank without AI taking over control of the turret and gun. I am ok with the driver shifting the gears, but I don't want an AI gunner to decide which enemy to attack. This makes me a viewer, only, not the player. 1 2
