SvAF/F16_Dark_P Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Hi guys a squad mate asked me the other day about radio navigation in the spit and i told him we have none, but then i come to think about the pipsqueak.... I have been searching but cant find anything about it so i just ask here, if there are any plans to make it funktion in il2? at least the funktion to get a vector to home base, like you have in most other planes in the game. regards and Cheers!
Talisman Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Pip-squeak first (Battle of Britain) and then replaced by IFF by the look of it. Links below: Pip-squeak - Wikipedia Production of the IFF Mark III began at Ferranti and was quickly taken up in the US by Hazeltine.[15] It remained the Allies' primary IFF system for the rest of the war; the 176 MHz common frequency was used for many years after.[14] IFF Mark II - Wikipedia Happy landings, Talisman
SvAF/F16_Dark_P Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 (edited) Ok... i Know what it is, a pip squeak is not the same as "friend from foe", look at my link.... it is for navigation What i am going for here is if there are any plans to make it function?, from what i understand the remote contactor/pip squeak coud be used to get a vector to home base, it would be nice if we had it, that is all. http://pa0pzd.com/airforce/aaf-iff/pip-squeak-americanbritish/ Regards Edited February 12, 2023 by SvAF/F16_Dark_P
AndyJWest Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 I don't think Pipsqueak was still in use for relevant IL-2 GB time periods. No IL-2 GB aircraft is fitted with the equipment. 1
Enceladus828 Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 (edited) If it’s not in CloD Blitz already it will probably be added to that game. Not sure why you think this is funny, Luke. Edited February 12, 2023 by Enceladus 1
