--[---MAILMAN---- Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Can the location of the FPS counter that appears by default in the upper right hand corner of the monitor screen be moved to a different location? If so how would one do that? Thank you.
Hoss Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Don't know about changing position, you may be able to change the color to make it more visible. I use my MSI afterburner to display fps/gpu-cpu temps. I can move it and and change size and color. 1
--[---MAILMAN---- Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 Thanks for the answers. Color is fine, but hard to view up in that corner for me. You would think that would be one item that could be customized like many games.

AMD and Nvidia have their own overlays as well. MSI afterburner etc...
--[---MAILMAN---- Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 Thanks for the suggestion. I don't use Steam, nor want to have anything to do with it and I do have Geforce Experience, but use it strictly for driver updates. I prefer to use in game options if available so I limit programs running in the background.
Qcumber Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 You can also use openxr toolkit to overlay the fps (and other settings). This is projected off-centre and moves with head tracking. This software also has some benefits of improving the VR experience if you are happy to spend some time tweaking various settings.
Drano Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Well then ya better not try it! You'll never go back to looking at the screen after you've been sitting in the cockpit. <S> MLM
--[---MAILMAN---- Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 Hello Drano Been a while, how are you? I use Track Ir and have since Air Warrior went away and sims supported it. When I want immersion I turn on Nvidia surround across multiple 27" monitors. I have some ASUS devices that make the monitor frames disappear where they meet. I wear glasses now (sucks to be old) and can't imagine wearing that visor for any length of time over them or my surround headphones on top of that. My adult kids have had me try their VR sets and I didn't care for it. Guess I am just set in my ways & retirement hasn't changed that. Good to hear from you. 1

Geforce Experience takes up very little resources. You're not going to ruin your game's performance by having the FPS overlay open while running the game. ?
No_85_Gramps Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Fraps is still available and has a small footprint when in use. FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software
--[---MAILMAN---- Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 I appreciate that it is only a small hit on resources, but I don't run anything in the background that I don't need. I have used FRAPS for years and know how it works, but I don't run it unless I want to make a movie which I haven't done since IL-2 1946. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
