Ju 88 C spinning on landing and take-offs

Been a while since I have tried my hand with the Ju 88 C and could do with a little advice. On take-off, and despite maximum left rudder and full brake, she has a tendancy to turn to the right. I am getting there slowly, but it's a gremlin.

Same goes for landing the Ju 88. All is fine and as she comes to a halt, and despite full rudder to the left and brake, she will turn to the right and wants to perhaps loop. This at a very low speed such as nearing completion of the flight.

My usual set-up is max cowl flaps on take-off, take-off flaps, max RPM and slowly hitting the throttle and using rudder to compensate.

Any advice to my fellow Ju 88 jockeys?

With very best wishes,

Bulldog

You do remember, that she have separate left and right brakes. Rudder ain't been very effective in slow speeds, so you have to use left and right pedal toe brakes.

Do you have pedals? For the Ju88 differncial breaks are essential. Rudders are not effective at low speed, you need to use the left and right brakes to compensate. Just dont overdo it and change to rudder after your tail goes up by itself.

Hello! Just went from the CH Pro pedals to the MFG Crosswinds and assume that I need some practice in the Ju 88. Seemed find today in the Mustang.

Thank you!

MFG crosswinds, I also have them, great choice. Make sure you have the latest firmware. I could double the precision with newer firmware.

Here a excellent video from good old sheriff, who eplains the quirks of the ju88 pretty well.
