jollyjack Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 In the generated missions by career and other IL2 stuff like AQMB there are often a lot of non linked timers with 0s etc called _DUDE. Why? And yes, they have nothing to do with Jeff Bridges BTW.
Gambit21 Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Be careful about trying to glean information about proper mission building from generated missions...you can learn a few things, (sometimes) but you can also be led astray and there is generally always a better way to accomplish even the things you could use (like AAA for instance) In other words, don't worry about the stray timers. They're obviously not piped into anything, thus a non-functional artifact of the generated file. 1
Jaegermeister Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 DUDE is an acronym for something I don't even remember any more. One of the Devs probably knows, but I doubt they will bother to spell it out since it doesn't make any difference. They have been there a looooong time. I did learn how to set up a FAC from dissecting the QMB missions though... sort of.

Designates targets for your flight and calls them out on the radio while setting a target command for the player. See, the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask, haha Edited February 9, 2023 by Jaegermeister 1
