FaceTrackNoir question

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a Logitech webcam and I have been checking out the software FaceTrackNoir, I have watched a number of YouTube videos on different types

of software that can be used for face tracking while playing ROF. I think that there are about four different programs to do the same thing, however which one is

the best one to use.

I also found a Microsoft version that can be used with their flight sims but I don't know if it can be used for ROFm I believe that there is even a Beta version of face

tracking using a webcam, however right now I can't remember the name of that software.

I would like to know if anyone else is using FaceTrackNoir or any other type of face tracking with a web cam and if there any other software recommendations other

than FaceTYrackNoir?

Thank you for your time and help,

I last used FaceTrackNoIR almost a decade ago. I recal it was better than nothing, but occasionally got a bit jumpy when it didn't get a good look at my face. I soon swapped to TrackIR (and since then to VR), so I haven't seen how the program has changed since then. I know that face tracking has gotten much better in the intervening years, and webcams are now commonly used to provide live animation for streamers using animated avatars rather than their actual faces (called V-Tubers). If FaceTrackNoIR has kept up, then it probably will work just fine.

I use this.  Works great.  https://grassmonkeysimulations.com/

I have the older version, and use a ps3 cam.   Temped to try the new version, but no reason to as this one works great.

Thank you for your responce. The webcam that I purchased is a Logitech Brio Pro 4K, it is a nice webcam, however the webcam displays a lavender shade over your face, which seems strange.

The one thing that is a bit confussing to me is there are 2 downloads for the FaceTrackNoir, one I am guessing is just the face tracking programe and the second one is labeled as the install package, both programes download links are listed on the same page, I also downloaded the software for the with the 64 driver. Setting this up might be a little interesting.

Do I need to install both FaceTrackNoir programs or just the download with the package?

Don't know.  I use opentrack.  But it utilizes the led lights for head tracking.

I use a LogiTech C922 Pro Stream with opentrack and AItrack as a headtracking system. I found that the two most important things to get butter smooth tracking is a fixed stable seating system with a controllable light environment. Once you have a stable foundation it is just a matter of taking the time to tweak the filter and curve settings to get the desired results.
