parkerc341 Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Has anyone else revisited the game lately? The "Defense of the Reich" type missions where you shoot down B-17s and B-24s are a nice change of pace.

Verbum_Vincet Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Revisited it a few months ago after finding a Dark Blue World installation on my HD I'd totally forgotten about. The first misson I did was the stock intercept mission with the Me-163 Komet. Always a blast! I hear you on the Reichsverteidigung campaigns, though. They were some of my favorites, too. FlatSpinMan had some really good ones with huge bomber streams. Il-2: 1946 did many things right but the graphics are a little dated for my taste, ruining immersion. I much prefer the current graphics! I still have the disk version of IL-2: 1946, actually. Got it many years ago for $5. Total bargain - I got hundreds of hours of enjoyment from it!

I'm only 16, so the the whole game is quite new to me. Amazing to me how in 2006 (even without the BAT or VP mod) they were able to model so many theaters of war. Japan, Italy, Africa, Russia, Europe..... simply amazing. 1
