CountZero Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 From BlackSix on Ru forum "I can’t tell you anything about the planes, but very active work is being done on the campaigns. Now the priority is to complete the free campaign for Normandy and add tactical aircraft numbers to the already released paid campaigns, then I will return to the Yak-7b in the Kuban. There should be official information on this soon." So yes there is new campaigns in the works for this game still 2
1CGS BlackSix Posted February 1, 2023 1CGS Posted February 1, 2023 Yes, since the fall of 2021 I have been developing a Soviet fighter campaign for the Kuban map. Here is a topic with a vote and this campaign was chosen by the community. At the moment, the campaign is 90% complete (unfortunately, development was frozen for a number of reasons last year), and I'd like to release it in Q2 of this year, on the 80th anniversary of the battle for Kuban. You'll fly the Yak-7b as part of the 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment of 278th Air Division in May - June 1943. The campaign will be full of difficult air battles, frequent change of missions and redeployment to different airfields. A new option will also be introduced with reserve airfields for each mission. At the moment, this is the best fighter campaign I've ever done (in my opinion, of course ?). More details and screenshots will be in the official announcement. 21 8 4
Niagara Posted February 1, 2023 Author Posted February 1, 2023 (edited) Thank you CountZero and BlackSix That's great news , Now lets here from Gambit21 , what have you got to say for yourself Sir ? Got anything Cooking ?? ===I sure hope so ... Your not gonna let BlackSix One Up You , are you ? Edited February 1, 2023 by Niagara 1
AEthelraedUnraed Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 It'll be an "unofficial" free campaign rather than a paid one, which you'll be able to download from the Scripted Campaigns forum once it's ready, but I'm working on a campaign for the Hurricane. It'll have 10 historical missions taking place in the summer of 1942 on the Normandy map. They'll mostly be ground attack missions, but there's some air combat and anti-shipping as well. Although the campaign will be free, it'll be of a high quality and include things like map drawings. There isn't a fixed ETA yet, but I expect to release it in a couple of months, depending on how much of my spare time I'm willing to spend on it. In the meantime you can enjoy my previous campaign Battle of the Hürtgen Forest 8 5 5
Sandmarken Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 (edited) Im working on a campagin for the Fw190D. Il put it up in the forum when its done its about 60% right now. ? Its not gona be as fancy as what others can do, but its pretty cool to cover those late war bombed out airfields with a red belly dora ?? Edited February 1, 2023 by Sandmarken 3 3

The fact that you updated the map with smaler towns and farms makes it so much cooler ? will you do the same with the normandy campagin? I find the french coast very populated while the british only has the towns and cities. 1

Now I have numbers assigned to all German aircraft in all remaining campaigns, and I have started working with Soviet aircraft. I think at least 1-2 campaigns will be ready for the next update. 6 3

The Normandy campaign will not have the same level of added detail. Mostly because it's not necessary as a lot of its action happens in locations that are already relatively detailed, but also because in most missions the extra detail wouldn't really matter (as opposed to the Hürtgen campaign which is mostly Close Air Support so really benefits from detailed villages). That said, there will be some extra detail added where necessary. There's one or two missions where you'll be attacking German gun positions - of course these positions have surface details as well as the 3d models. EDIT: there'll also be one or two "easter eggs" like this bunker complex under construction: With the latest DD/announcement, I think it's nice to mention that my campaign will focus on one of the other two squadrons of the 121 Wing, No. 174 (Mauritius) Squadron. Like No. 245 (Northern Rodesia) Squadron which the official campaign will follow, it started as a Hurricane squadron before converting to Typhoons in 1943, although 245 seems to have mainly flown fighter sweeps with their Hurricanes whereas 174 was clearly a ground attack squadron. Anyhow, after both squadrons were attached to 121 Wing in May 1944, they basically share a common history. I think it's not too far-fetched to see my campaign as a prequel to the official campaign, and simply pretend that you transferred to another squadron, likely even meeting up with some of your old mates still in 174 Sq. Yes, it looks like you're going to have an interesting prequel. The Wings over Caen makes multiple references to the No. 174 Squadron and in two missions the player will operate alongside its Typhoons. 3 1

If I make such a campaign then it will unfold in the interval between "Fortress on the Volga" and "Ice Ring", i.e. mid-October - mid-November 1942. I've found a combat log of one of the La-5 air divisions which describes the process of switching flights from three aircraft to two pairs, this should be interesting. Also, it was one of the most intense moments of the struggle for Stalingrad. 4
