1Sascha Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4070-non-ti-rumored-to-have-2475-mhz-gpu-boost-clock ... which would *probably* put it somewhere around the 3080's performance (FP32: 29.77 TFLOPS) - at a much reduced TDP (320W vs 200W). All of which was rather predictable, I guess ... so the only open question is ..."how much?" But the words "good deal" don't really come to mind when I think "Nvidia" these days, so I'm not holding my breath. ? S.
jollyjack Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 For now i'll stick to my 3080ti ..... maybe next winter when my PC's room needs more heating than it already has. The current Electrickery Bill already alarms the wife; she might go for a divorce.

That said: All the 40xx cards so far seem to have made some good progress WRT power consumption, so you might as well sell her the upgrade as a way of saving power/the environment... S. 1
kestrel79 Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 I have a i5 9600k and a 2060...looking at a 4060 or 4070 when they come out if it will help in VR.

Although, looking at the rumored 4060 Ti specs, the non-TI 4060 will *probably* be a bit underwhelming WRT uplift. And, of course, it also depends on what sort of VR-set you use/plan to use. My puny Rift-S runs fine 95% of the time with my RTX 3070, and the 4070 should probably be all I'd ever need with that VR-set. But I'm not too sure about that card with newer, higher res sets. I'm guessing 4070 Ti and up would be the safer bet(s) with stuff like the Reverb G2 or even higher res devices. S. Edited February 4, 2023 by 1Sascha
