Game Updater Only Available For Limited Time Now?

One of my squad reported an interesting issue last night. He has been away from the sim for a little bit and has missed out on a couple of recent updates.

He reported that his update had stopped during the process, I can not confirm if it was during the download or install but he reported a message saying something like at weekends the updater service is only available for a limited time?

He is one of our senior members and often needs support/hand-holding with the game but he seemed certain of the message.

 

Could this really be the case? and a game will no longer update when ever you connect?

I'm pretty sure that this is not true.

Most likely had a disconnection or error..... these things happen.

As luck would have it, I just reinstalled the game yesterday. I think the total size was 45 gigs. There were a couple of slowdowns where it looked like the DL had stopped but then it jumped back up to several megs a second. I think the whole process start to finish was under an hour.
