Uriah Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 So it seems the Spit 9e seems to have nothing that I can find for anything to do with mixture. The 14 has a fuel cut off. I can't find just what 'action' in the key settings would move that. The 5b does have something but I am not sure if it is a control for 'auto lean' and 'auto rich' or something else related to mixture. And for that Spit. is forward lean or rich? In CloD those early Spits have mixture control but forward seems to be lean and aft seems to be rich.
DD_Arthur Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 The mixture control lever was omitted on later Spitfires. For the Vb, put the mixture lever fully forward for auto rich and leave it there.

Dragon1-1 Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Yup, you don't get to fiddle with the fuel lever. Il-2 has inferior systems modeling to CLOD and DCS. It's one of many things you can't control manually.
Uriah Posted January 21, 2023 Author Posted January 21, 2023 I was only concerned if it was movable that I would know the action to do the moving.

In the Vb we have the mixture lever was placed fully forward on engine start for auto rich and left in this position for normal operations. For most economical cruise the lever could be brought back for auto lean coupled with an engine setting of zero boost and 2600 rpm.

They have no mixture lever, however they have a "fuel lever", which, as I now checked, is called an idle cutoff lever. I was referring to that frob outboard of the throttle that you move as part of the engine start procedure.
