Uriah Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 I assume that the mixture value for increase moves the mixture control lever forward and can only be done if throttle is forward. And that decrease is back on the lever. But from what I can tell either the animation is backwards or the value in options is backward. Please help with this confusion. A good example is the Mk.IIa
blockheadgreen_ Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Forward is weak and aft is Rich. It can only be moved to weak when the throttle is below 4lbs(?) boost. 1
Uriah Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 So the Bob Spits the mixture lever is FORWARD for LEAN, but for the Spit 5b (as in BoX) it is forward for auto Rich?

That's is "correctly", well, is in the "CloD way". In Spitfires, Mk I... Mk V press the key assigned for: Decrease Mixture move the mixture lever animation back - for Rich position Increase Mixture move the mixture lever animation ahead - for Weak position In Hurricane the quadrant is labeled, so can see this better, as well the mixture knob interlocked with throttle lever. Mixture lever is back, in Rich position. But why is inverted? First because those planes are a British things, who prefer awkward ways. ? But in this case make sense, since the mixture lever is interlocked with throttle lever, for don't allow run the engine with incorrect mixture settings for the throttle position. Second, because CloD controls - despite hundred of options; is coded poor, with much left over of IL-2:1946, and the same commands, in this case - Increase and Decrease Mixture; are use for all other planes of the game, in those Increase Mixture key move the Mixture Lever animation ahead, for rich position, what result that in British fighters became... "left hand". ? In Tomahawk (P40) the Mixture Rich positions is with lever ahead. The way that could avoid this would be - during game development in the first decade of WWI century; was creating "Increase/Decrease Mixture British" commands, IL-2:GB (BoX) do this for some commands, e.g. Bf 109 pitch trim don't use the same command of Spitfire and other planes pitch trim - the "Elevator trim", use a specific command called "Stabilizer adjust", same for different types of flap operation. But now is "live with this". But in Controls have option for assign the keys correct for Spit, Hurri and SAVE AS as "British commands", and load this profile when go fly in this planes.
