Buying IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Bodenplatte can it be linked to my Steam account?

Getting back to using IL-2 after a few years. I bought Battle of Stalingrad and Normandy on Steam awhile back. If I buy IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Bodenplatte from IL-2 can it be linked to my Steam account?

Yes. You’d have to email support, and it usually takes them several days to get back to you, but then it is linked.

You don't have to email support. You just enter your Steam account information into your il2sturmovik.com account. The two accounts should then handshake and "unlock" the Bodenplatte content in your Steam version.

I for sure agree, we also get a ton of people asking this same question on my IL-2 Discord; so, something here pinned as well as a pinned thread on the Steam community page would go a long way for basic troubleshooting.

If you buy content through Steam, it will only be available from the Steam client. However, content from the website is available on both Steam and standalone.

For example, I own everything but my BoS/BoM keys are on Steam. My accounts are linked, so I have all my content when launching through Steam, but BoS/BoM will be missing when launched through the standalone launcher.

Hope that answers what you were asking!

So...I assume I have to "re-buy the Snipe through my IL-2____.com account? I don't remember this being a problem when buying other optional aircraft or vehicles.

If you have IL-2 on Steam, and have linked it to your website account, you can fly the Snipe and all your website content through Steam. But when you launch IL-2 through the standalone launcher, Steam content will not be present.

So, you shouldn't have to rebuy anything if you have IL-2 on Steam.
