BOS HUD

I hopped into a tank yesterday just to check it out.  There was an HUD on screen.  Later, when beginning a mission in my 109, the HUD was showing in the lower, left corner of screen.  It is annoying, and I cannot remember how to turn it off.  Pleas advise.  Thanks.
