Channel map Fokker DVII scenario. 3 Fokkers have to intercept DH-4's trying to bomb the U-boat pens at Brugge. Supporting DVIII's don't help much. AI and DM mods vonS and ground textures by Fubar. No channel, Belgium or U-boats in Flying Circus. Maybe the graphics here look better too?

Flying ship protection scenario. Supposed to be Jasta 1, but planes got Jasta 5 skins. Only the Albatros DVa made it Flying Circus. No flying boats, ships or U-boats and no sea.

Is this PWCG 16.3.1 for ROF?

 

We don't have Jasta 1 in PWCG 16.3.1 and the entire Channel map is a total PWCG SNAFU. Surprised you got this far!?

One of the RoF Channel scenario missions. In PWCG 16.3 the only Channel campaign is MF Jasta 1 from July 1916, flying EIII, which isn't too bad. Encounter Tripes too early and no Belgian units. Mostly Fe's, DH-2,  N17, Tripe occasional N11. I hope it might get better towards end of 1916. All opposing units seem to be RFC, no Belgian or RNAS.  I wanted a different campaign to Western Front and Tarnapol campaign really bad. Marine Feld Jastas are only available in career mode I think from around May 1917.

Yep, so as far as I can tell the whole channel map is completely fooked as far as PWCG 16.3.1 is concerned. It's a wreck.

 

I have tested this from the allied side only, but the only central units that ever appear are the MFJ, irrespective of what other Boche units are reportedly in the area. 

 

This irks me because I spent many hours creating skins for Boche seaplanes that will never appear. Plus all the other units that dip in and out of the channel map. I've never seen a single one of them.

 

I imagine it's exactly the same from the axis side with the Belgian skins I made.

 

Effectively there is no game to be played on the channel map in PWCG 16.3.1 as far as I can see.

 

Maybe you knew this....?

Yeah downloaded all your Belgian skins but no Belgian units! Only ever tried career on Channel map with Belgian 1916 N11 and DFW's landed on a pond mistaking it for their airfield I suppose. I think channel was sort an unfinished job. I may try MF J1 in career instead. Cheers.

Which version of VonS AI mod do you prefer? 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.37 or 1.41? I have done AI mod myself but I created "monsters" which could do almost 360 no-scopes xD.

 

BTW. Imagine it is 2008. 10 years old game Red Baron 3D already looks like prehistoric pixelated thing from another era. Now we live in 2024 and 15 years old Rise of Flight still looks amazing. I just can't believe that this game was so good optimalized that it was running quite smooth on computers at that time.

I'm using vonS 1.3. Yeah when I first got Rise of Flight in 2010 it looked really stunning on what was a very modest PC. It's only in the last few years that I've been able to crank the graphics setting to maximum.

She's a pretty little thing for sure, and probably the best of the original templates to use from a skinners perspective, even though I edited it to pieces.  I'm saying absolutely nothing about what followed over on another forum as I got banned last time I dared to suggest....well, you know!

 

I lavished much love and attention on the girl and there's nigh on 1000 individual skins I made for her. I very much appreciate seeing them in the sky in these videos, and thanks to all who take them out for a spin. It's nice to see them.

I know I missed Boxing Day, so very sorry Trooper. My pc crashed and burned (figuratively) Christmas Eve. On Boxing Day I took it to my tech and he had just finished this brand new gaming PC. Got it for a song, take a look...

 

 

Oh! Sparky was 7yo and I just went to an RTX 4060 from a 1050! LOL

ROF is butter smooth at plus 60fps with all settings cranked to 11 👍

Anyroad, I'm back in harness. (still have some fav fonts that weren't backed up to hunt down online)
