Just downloaded IL2 Sturmovik Great Battle on my new Alienware R15 computer and was enjoying far better performance when suddenly the pilots view button and the Hat button has gone crazy. Pilot view shifts to look straight up and Hat view swings rapidly left and right making game impossible to play.

Sounds like you might have accidentally hit F10.  To verify/fix reset your view using insert, delete, etc keys and save with F10 once adjusted to your liking.

I changed my F10 to Ctrl-F10.
It saves on accidents.

I have also hit the F10 by mistake.  Really messes things up.  I found the mouse to be helpful for getting things close (was really off) then using the insert, delete ect to fine tune the adjustments.

You can reset the saved snapviews for any vehicle/plane by deleting the corresponding file from data\LuaScripts\snapviews

You don't have to copy/paste the default view. Just restart the game and the default view will be restored.

If you delete the views you will have a cockpit centre view
If you replace with the default files you will have gunsight centre view
Theirs a difference

I fly Lw AC with a center view. And have always adjusted the view then hit F10 to save. So, I did some testing.

1) Move view to some random sight, exit game. Delete snapview. Restart game. View returns to gunsight center view.

2) Exit game and delete defualt view. Restart game. View returns to gunsight center view.

3) Exit game and delete defualt view and snapview. Restart game. View returns to gunsight center view.

So, how do you get a center cockpit view?

Note: I am on a flat screen, if you are in VR this might be the differance.
