Unable to change Key Mapping Settings - NULL

Game working great yesterday - today, went to change a Key Mapping setting & was met with a NULL message - unable to alter any key.

No prior changes to external hardware / computer / Windows 10 / settings

 

 

Solution:  Game settings are on separate disk from Windows Disk

                 Went to E: -> Program Files -> IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles -> data -> input

                 Checked Properties -  the Read Only box was checked

                 Unchecked -> clicked on Apply

Now able to reset Key Mappings

 

Does anyone know why this happened &/or how I might prevent it from doing so in the future?

Maybe, but I´m not absolutely certin, using a basefolder "Program files" can be win protected. Take the "IL-2... folder out of there and try. W may spot the folder name and do it´s protection routines. At least wort trying.

That sounds weird.
I run my windows system as a user because I don't trust myself with the admin account.
Never ran into this issue, usually a permissions issue is confined to permissions, never seen it cause read only issues.
