Skins appearing very dark

New member here. Been downloading some Fokker D8 .dds skins but they all appear very dark, even when I convert them to png. What am I doing wrong please.

Not using in sim, for printing covering tissue on model aircraft thanks

You don´t do anything wrong, the darkness is a result of the alpha layer with which the skin was created. That´s usual for IL2 skins.

I just save from dds to png , all right here. (i use photoshop) Why you need in png ?? What a hack is a png ?? Anyway, in photoshop for me is all right.

What program you using ?

I need png to import into Inkscape. Your image seems a lot brighter than the one I posted

But when opened in a paint program, they display normally. If they were re-saved in another format as a single layer, the alpha wouldn’t be visible.

That is not the alpha  . 

This is the alpha.

I know. What I took his message to mean was the semi transparent gray look you see when you view the skin in its folder.
