Hi, I'm 2 weeks new to the varjo aero from an oculus 2 and G2.  Really a great first impression machine.  Wow!  But I've not been able to get OpenXR Toolkit to work in Il-2 with the aero.  The app config. with open composite shows il2exe., SteamVR and Aero tracking along with Msfs 2020.  The same for the box inside of the Toolkit.  The OXR toolkit works great with MSFS, just not with Il-2.  I havn't flown DCS.

My settings: ui 100%, shadows off, mirrors off,  dist. land. detail normal, canopy off, horizon draw dist. 100km, landscape filter off, terrain roughness low, grass off, clouds extreme,

MSAA 4, dynam. res. full, gamma 1, ssao off, hdr on, sharpen off, 4k textures on, dist. build. off, with an ultra setting.

Quick Missions is my main game sofar with fps 46-52, gpu is 98%, cpu 16-20%.  Gpu memory 9.7/23.8 Gig, Ram 11.6/31.9 Gig

Varjo Base: 37ppd (very high), vert. sync. and motion smoothing disabled, optimize perf. on, open vr off, open xr on.  Minor shimmering is still happening, good green and brown colors (not much else), and with good focus everywhere (65 yr. old eyes too).   Will openxr toolkit even help with the view?  The system specs are: i9-10850k, 32G ram, and 3090 graphics.

You guys are the greatest.  Thanks for all the info in this forum ~7 years worth so far.  That Ace over Lille in Rise of Flight was my first and best braggin shootdown!

Your issue is most likely that IL2 isn't properly going through OpenComposite, and not an issue of OpenXR Toolkit.

The OpenComposite launcher is very buggy with Varjo (and in general), and you should try the per-app install (copying the `openvr_api.dll` from OpenComposite into the IL2 folder).

I'm using the (copying the `openvr_api.dll` from OpenComposite into the IL2 folder) method too on a 10900k & 3080 and experience zero flicker with MSAA 2.

Aero as well.

I tried it and lost 10 to 15 FPS, might not work well with the Aero.

openxr toolkit, wonderful with vr and aero.  My question is whether pilots are using Better 3d in VR (greater depth) by pastanario3 from april of 2022.  Is this still worth pursuing this with the aero in il-2?

Another question about the aero.  I'm doing my best with a Falcon Talon machine (from Oregon) with a i91300 and a 4090, and a pleasant yes to any questions it is worth it.  My issue though is that BASE for the aero has PPD set at 35, 37, 39 and a couple lower ones, but once il-2 is started BASE then shows 35 to be 27, 37 to be 30 and 39 to be 35.  Only real issue I have are shimmering problems.  Not badly though.  Very nice flying, but did I goof ball this somewhere setting things up?  Im just using profile inspector to tweek things a bit.  Nothing extravegant, LOD bias -.50, pre render frames 8, and texture filtering High Quality.  Thanks for the advice since Rise of Flight days.
