lwalter Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 It's completely random and can happen every minute in a given period or not at all for a whole hour. I have no clue what's going on. I was even wondering if it was because there were both Oculus app and SteamVR running together, but doesn't seem to be the root cause. I also denied the file access from PC to Quest 2, because I read somewhere that it would help against these disconnections, but no luck The only way I could reliably keep a connection was by using Airlink. That's OK, but I wonder why there are so many problems with the Oculus Link cable. BTW it's not only happening with IL2, but any other VR app.
lwalter Posted January 8, 2023 Author Posted January 8, 2023 I tried almost every solution I could find on Internet, but no luck. Finally, I decided to use AirLink. Since then I have no more disconnection issues and quality looks same. I can still use the cable for charging while I'm playing... but if I knew I would use a much cheaper charging cable
MAJORgoonMADLOU Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) One thing that helped me with constant disconnects was to disable any software which puts the computer into "gaming mode" including Windows. I read in a couple articles that Quest 2 needs to able to work in the background and such software limits its ability to do so. I disabled my Windows gaming mode and a software program I had which would boost my computer by turning off background programs. The disconnects stopped. Edited January 25, 2023 by MAJORgoonMADLOU
