Can anyone help an old skinner?

I used to skin for the old il2 as well as il2 Cliffs of Dover..

Can anyone tell me where skins are stored in the new il2?
Are il2: COD templates the same as the newer version of il2?

Here is where the skins are stored:

IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\Skins\....

 

And no COD templates are not the same as IL2GB.

I used to downloaded them from here.... but maybe things have changed in last few months. If links were still active and you find some of them doesn't work try to add an "s" in the http-> https to make it works.

Also check out this old tutorial. Skinning process still been the same. Just take a look in how to create an Alpha layer if you're thinking in adding metal bare, glossie or matt parts to your skin in case you wonder on that, otherwise all skins would be matt as default. Have fun.

Just dive in and mess around. If you've already an idea of how to do it then you're half-way there. 
The early Yak templates are fairly basic (as is the plane!!) so they're good for dipping your toe into the water with!
