Newbie Turning gun turret and firing

Very much a newbie

I press control+c to get to the gunner then left shift T to get the sights up

sometimes I can get the turret to revolve and fire using my mouse but usually it won't !

 

What am I doing wrong

Are you unlocking the gun from its traveling position? T by default.

indeed @tonyscrase, either you pressed T to "unlock the barrel" (T is the basic key...), or you may have this bug or despite everything, the barrel is "frozen" without being really locked in the meta of the game... in this case, just quickly change your position and return to the gunner position, it cancels this bug...

Thanks for your advice I now can move turret and fire GREAT really enjoying the game shame there is no manual

In the Panther, if you look down whilst not in "nestled to gun site" view you can see the turret lock lever, When you hit "T" you will see the animation of the lever being pulled back into the unlock position.  I always look to see the position of that lever  before going to gun site view to know if its ready.  The other thing I use are the dial indicators on the turret wall that tell you the position of you turret in relation to your hull. this definitely adds to the immersion factor for myself. As back in the day that's all the gunner had, besides the commander telling the gunner which direction he was facing as he couldn't pop out to the 3rd person view
