EigenValue Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Greetings dear pilots, moderators and developers, Over the years I've heard great things about this game and I finally bought it! The game started fine but the problem here is that the application shut down in about 1 seconds after logging in. No warnings or pop-up window appeared. Yes I've read FAQs and following are the things I've done so far, which have not yet solved the problem: Running il-2.exe (as well as the shortcut launcher) as admin; Turning off Windows Security real time protection; Reinstalling (took hours); Confirming license keys, all active; Launch the game in different languages, settings and resolutions; Removing the tick from Read Only field of the game folder (which weirdly turned itself back on every time when checking it again). I can log-in at il2sturmovik.com so presumably my account is indeed active. Nothing is present in \data\logs folder; however I did find something suspicious in \data\tex.log that states: FAILED load: GRAPHICS\ICONS\ROUNDARROW.DDS (graphics\textures\common\ROUNDARROW.DDS) (I should probably have checked game integrity, but how?) My hardware and software specs: Intel i7-6700, GeForce GTX 1080, some brand 16 GB RAM and SSD I can't remember, Windows 10 Home x64 version 22H2. IL-2 Sturmovik (should be v5.004, the game crashed so quickly after logging in), Premium Edition Stalingrad, Moscow, Kuban and Bodenplatte. Any help would be much appreciated. Hopefully I may see you guys in air soon! (I've read the forum Rules and I do sorely respect it, but since this is my first post here, my apology if aforewrittens violate any community rules or taboos.)
Shipwreck Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 I'm getting the same type of problem. Launches to black screen, occasionally just launches correctly. Works fine on my laptop. I'm going through all the same things looking for a solution.
[BFs]ArcticWolf Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Myself as well am getting the same issue just stuck on loading screen mine is stand alone didn't by off steam so it isn't a steam issue and I've never had a problem with game before either. Hopefully this gets fixed soon been trying for a week as there was 2 small patches before and game worked fine up till then! I7 11700F, Geforce RTX 3060, 32gb ram, 512gb SSD / 1TB HD Windows 10 64bit
FlyingH Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Are your games located in C\Program files\....? Move it to somewhere else on your disc(s) and retry.
