Weather effects....

It would be great to have:

- turbulence inside and in the vicinity of convective clouds;

- other forms of precipitation near said convective clouds, namely hail and it's consequences on the aircraft cells;

- icing / ice accretion and it's effects in aerodynamics and engines.

I like the turbulence ideas, including wake turbulence.  In addition, an ability to set turbulence layers in the mission editor.

I like the icing idea too, but not surprised if that's waaay down on a list of priorities.

And dreaming a bit:  imagine being able to set a weather front across the map?

Others have asked, and I agree:  FOG/cloud layer down to deck.

If I had to pick between fog, icing, hail; I'd pick fog every time.

Ground blizzards with blowing snow effects depending on wind speeds.  Could just take the ground fog effects and have heavy snow flakes effects inside the fog on winter maps.  Put it in the low spots just like the fog.

cosmetic and immersive elements.

That's really fantastic work, Koss!  Amazing ambient sounds.  I was more impressed than I thought I'd be.

My thoughts are not well-formed, but, I'd say:

  • the ambient noise sounds like "free" ears, rather than a helmet with radio ear cups.  Maybe closer to the filter you have when you close the canopy at 1:35 (or 2:26??) ?
  • If we increase the droplet sound when canopy closed, then, the max decibels for canopy open should be the level when canopy closed.  Ie, the sound is too loud when closed.
  • the engine must drown out ambient sound... these are HUGE engines...

Very Compelling work, Koss!

Thank you, @dbuile.  Yes, I made it with "no-helmet" sound conception, because it seems to be all the others sounds works like this.

I started from that volume level, when you go full throttle, you can still hear rain sounds, to make flights in the rain obviously different then the clear day flights. Just wanted to show how this sound mechanics could work (for example, canopy opening, or if you dive down through the clouds layer). But i agree, volume levels could be adjused.
