super-truite Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 (edited) Since the last update I have often an infuriating bug: I edit a mission save it and then it goes back to an older state. I am probably doing something different than usual but I do not really understand what is going on and would like to know if someone else experience the same or if I just had too much of the good things during the Christmas dinners ? Things I have done recently that might have cause the problem: I edit the mission and save it in the Dogfight folder, but then copy paste it in another game folder that I use to make a test Dserver (I am sure I did not make the mistake of copy pasting the old mission over the new one because I check the dates of creation when the bug or mistake occurs) Test the Surface edit tools Too much wine, champagne and food The only work around I have atm is to save with a different name each time ... AEthelraedUnraed Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 What happens if you delete the .msnbin file and load from the .mission file?
super-truite Posted December 26, 2022 Author Posted December 26, 2022 seems to be the same (older version as well) but I will make sure next time this happens
Habu Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 If you use the same name, the problem is the mission cache. Add version in the name of the mission to avoid that problem. Or delete the cache (single and multiplayer) before playing the mission. 1
super-truite Posted December 30, 2022 Author Posted December 30, 2022 (edited) thanks, it is what I ended up doing (versioning) Edited December 30, 2022 by super-truite
Habu Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Another advantage of the versioning is that you can use a previous version if you did something wrong.
super-truite Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 (edited) I was already using versioning but more for "milestones", now I use it after each small modification Edited December 31, 2022 by super-truite
