no tutorial missions for TC?

HI Guys,

 

I am very new to TC and I am very disappointed there is no TC tutorial missions at all.

 

So which missions should I try first (preferably not too complex) ?

Please advise.

hi,

you can try quick mission solo and choose in targets transports, rail, art. to begin, after that try tanks , duels, then groups....it is not really interesting but make good for begin ?

Personally, the most valuable piece of information I had to learn through the community is: you can repair your tank in the field by shutting off the engine, opening the hatches, and waiting several minutes.

 

And then there is learning how to find the range of the target. There are videos that teach that in detail. Gunnery is probably the most difficult skill to learn in Tank Crew, and that includes ammunition selection. Fortunately, you can let your AI gunner do all that work for you. Select the commander position and you have a radio you can use to communicate with your crew or platoon. Paint targets, or let your gunners fire at will. Unfortunately you will have to micromanage your AI drivers and paint waypoints for them. As commander, you can also drive your own tank. Or you can take the driver's role, which works fairly well if the gunner is already under orders to fire at will.

 

If you're familiar with the WWII aircraft in the sim, it helps to think of the tank as a ground-based bomber. The hatches use the same keyboard command as canopies. Visors are "windows." Gunsights are bomb sights. Operating the Sherman's cupola .50 BMG is the same as using waist guns in bombers. Traverse lock for the main gun is same as tailwheel lock on fighters. On the Churchill tank, the driver's view hatch has a cover that slides over the glass; use the open bomb bay doors command to move the cover out of the way. The side doors on the Churchill use the landing gear command. Weird, huh?

which is preferable way for playing TC,

do you use hotas joystick or mouse + keyboard is sufficient ?

As a casual single player, I use:

- Keyboard and mouse,

- VR headset (Reverb G2),

- Voice Attack with my own custom profile.

 

No joystick.

Couple of new StuG Key Binds

 

LSHFT+T gets the loaders machine gun out when the hatch is unbuttoned.

LSHFT+C mounts the MG on the top of the gun shield for better AA firing.

 

Play the Single Player missions and just memorize, memorize memorize.  Then join us on Finnish or AAS where the real fun begins.  Best game for PVP combined arms, hands down.  See attached

Hi, I too at the beginning, this year, had problems managing everything, then I met the forum, this one we are using, and slowly I understood almost everything there is to know, however I improved for me, the keys chosen by the TC team, also because afterwards it's always more or less those 7 or 8 that are used the most, I still haven't quite understood what the various cameras consist of in their function, because an instruction book that explains the various keys and what they actually do doesn't exist and I don't know why, but there is a key that is important and the one to unlock the cannon because you will see that in certain situations it is vital and you will understand why!!! However the game is fantastic even if it could definitely be improved, see tommy and tigre88 and various other talented characters who try in their free time to improve it with various skins and mods, because they have a passion and are able to do it!! Well what to say?? Welcome among us and maybe sometime we will meet in multiplayer, friends or enemies no problem, it's just a game!! And what a game!

I’m not quite sure where you are headed with the crack that says “because an instruction book that explains the various keys and what they actually do doesn't exist and I don't know why, but there is a key that is important and the one to unlock the cannon because you will see that in certain situations it is vital and you will understand why!!!”

At least as late as Version 4.702c there as been an officially updated set of IL2 Manuals…..

The usual thing I've already said, every time I get out of the vision of the gunner the cannon gets back in the middle again gets stuck and many times I've been destroyed because it takes time to unlock and aim the enemy that tears you to pieces!! all here, maybe the year has already changed, I do not know is a game, with this I do not want to say anything, it's just that for me, for me it is wrong not l'ascire decide the player if put it or not! That's all, for the rest there will always be problems I suppose, but I'm recommending this simulator to everyone I know because I repeat, for me it is beautiful, but it can be improved see for example tommy!

Hello, I can only recommend all beginners to set it to Indestructible first, and then test everything!

It might be fun to make a training mission for beginners, dunno if its needed though, like if you know how to install missions, you don't really need help figuring out how to for example start the engine, do you?
