So now that we have "some" infantry objects ...

Let me start by wishing everyone a merry christmas 2022 and at least a few calm days with your loved ones.

Since fate has decided to give me yet another middle finger by having me catch Covid for a second time just in time for christmas (just like last year ? ) I finally do have some time to look into the Mission Editor once again. And what did I spot? These two ...

Now for most of you this is but a fluffy negligable accessory, but for someone who likes playing with tanks this is actually a very important asset to "liven up" the ground battles with one of if not the most important assets for a ground war (when viewed from the ground at least).

Now my question is: Are these two going to remain one-offs just to fluff up the Normandy landing scenery or would it be possible to get german and soviet assets of the same type? *insert pleading puppy-eyes smiley here*

I mean the artwork/3d models exist ... we've seen them already in development updates a while back. Such as here ...

or here ...

Maybe even winter versions as teased in the very first picture (see the GI on the far right) or as in these two pics?

I will run this by some folks to see if there is any potential to add infantry into TC.

And, I'm going to move this to the TC sub=forum since it is more relevant there.

Rgr, Wardog. A copy&paste of the US /GB with the same rudimentary capabilities would be more than enough. But trying to model some specific actions at Kursk without them now looks pitiful after seeing the two existing squads.

I was told on Discord a few weeks ago that in the long term it's planned to add German and Soviet infantry. I guess that means it won't happen in the near future.

Drat ... understandable but drat, nonetheless.

And maybe another low-hanging fruit. The block named "bf_gunpos_1" contains this AT gun position.

Unlike the bunker-type structure that is the other part of "bf_gunpos_1" it does not exist separately. Wardog, could you run it by the devs (or whoever interfaces with you) if that position could be made available on its own? It's the only really working AT position since it allows also the smaller 3,7 and 4,5cm guns (both german and soviet) to work and still offer some protection.

Jut remember this is immensely important to any combat ground sim and almost every tank sim on Pc going back at least 20 years or more had infantry. Steel fury is very immersive in that regard. Infantry fights right alongside your tanks. Please implement them, even if it means holding back on another payware aircraft. I would put this project above everything else. I think would take much less work then creating a completly new aircraft because you have models already.

The strategic postions of trenches and strong points also need to be implemented. Its very weird to see a static MG postion alone or in a very open location and a  few AT guns in the middle of nowhere like I see now. It makes no sense. Tank crew is so underwelming because of these issues, it could be a a gem with some important TLC.

Some motivation here,
