For early adopters of TC, here is your chance to upgrade:

If you have purchased Tank Crew early on, especially if you did so when it was in Early Access and had only a couple of tanks to offer, your support came when it mattered the most. As a small Christmas gift, we would like to give the early adopters an one-time offer for Tank Crew Premium.
Please visit your profile on the website - depending on how early on you have purchased the original Tank Crew on our website, there you'll find a unique personal discount code that will supercharge your discount on Tank Crew Premium up to 80% OFF! If you'd like to get Tank Crew Premium, add it in the shopping basket and then apply this code. The codes are valid till January 1st, 2023.

Perfect! Many thanks for everything you do here. :salute:

Hey... my coupon said 75% off but worked out to be 25% off...  So I'd be paying $22.50 for the upgrade, but I've purchased everything except the Sd.Kfz. 10/5 Flak 38 (which is currently $9.95)...

So, a new purchaser would pay $3.40 for the upgrade - but this upgrade would meaning paying $12.54 more than it would cost for me to purchase everything separately (as an early adopter).

It is definitely a very good deal if you haven't purchased the StuG and Churchill though... I just happened to have already done that. They are both excellent vehicles if you are reading this and haven't purchased either btw.

Same here. I preordered the standard tank crew. I don't even think there was a premium back then, and then I got everything that came after.

So ....what to do with that discount now?

I greatly appreciate the offer thank you. Now if only I can get the time to get back to playing it someday.

I don't understand the math on the discount either.

I was hoping that upgrading to Premium would cost me $10 or less but it worked out to $22.50. That said, I bought Tank Crew on sale in 2021 and I didn't own any of the Collector Vehicles so I guess I'm still coming out ahead by a few dollars (using all the listed regular prices as a benchmark).

Posted

Yes it's a savings on all the collector vehicles as a thank you for paying a higher price and helping with the start of TC.

I took everything in early access to support the development of TC. If such an offer could boost the number of players, that's a good thing.

But it's going to be like sales or black friday. In the future we will wait for an opportunity before buying.

TBH I'm deferring on Flying Circus II until there is a major promo event. I think an FC2 pack similar to TC Premium, on sale like TC Premium currently is, would appeal to my low/moderate interest in WWI aviation.

Dumb question here. What exactly is the difference between the Premium version vs. the Early Access version. I now have both versions and see zero difference between the two. Same tanks..same everything. I haven't been to active with IL-2 lately and I'll take my lumps if I'm totally ignorant of something here but where are the differences?

Early access does not include AAA vehicles, Stug, or Churchill.

I own the standard edition, but no collector vehicles. Using the discount code, it says that upgrading to premium will cost me $30.59. Something is seriously awry.

That's the current sale price. Did you apply the code once you entered into the box at checkout? Doing that should visually change the checkout price.

What 'should' happen clearly doesn't. Other people are having issues too. It is far from obvious how this discount is supposed to be applied, or what the resulting cost is supposed to be.

I calculate I saved about 60% over purchasing the extra 4 pieces of equipment at the sale price, somewhat more if I had bought them at the non-sale price. Overall, it was worth it to me and hopefully this encourages a new chapter to TC - I can always hope.....

I don't think you can say a new purchaser would pay $3.40 for the upgrade.

The PROMO discount is for Tank Crew Premium edition only, which is currently valued at $90. Anyone new can purchase the Premium edition now and save 66% while it is on sale.

If you were an early adopter of Tank Crew, you can check your profile for even more savings (up to 80% off) depending on how early you adopted.

But in your case, since you have already purchased everything except the German half-track, then you can't really make use of the PROMO on Tank Crew Premium, and are better off just picking up the German AA truck on sale.

In my case, I was missing 3 of the collector vehicles so getting the Premium edition still saved me money over buying each vehicle at its sale price.

Even if all you need is the StuG and the Church, the Premium edition still represents a savings especially if you can also apply the early adopters discount.

I think it goes without saying that your support over the last couple years is appreciated by the developers, but I don't think there is much you can do with the discount unless they allow you to gift it to someone else. I haven't seen anything that would imply you could gift the discount, but Christmas is just around the corner.

If you purchased the standard edition while it was still in early access, then you are entitled to the early adopters discount. Check your profile. If you didn't, then $30.59 is the current sale price of the Premium edition, which includes all 4 collector vehicles. For anyone with the Standard edition that doesn't have any of the collector vehicles, picking up the Premium edition will still save them about $25.

I think the pricing strategy with the current sale works really well.... hows the simulator doing?

S!,

As a customer, I buy nearly everything that comes down the pipe. My only exception so far is FC2, which I may buy to fill the stable with new planes. I would like to make the suggestion that if an individual is an early adopter of TC, or any other product, that individual would qualify for a unlimited time coupon of 50% off future products. Just an idea, but it would definitely be an incentive for early adoption of products.

Basically the promo is rigged so that EA purchasers are credited $70-ish dollars on a $90 package, giving them a chance to pay approximately the remaining balance to upgrade to Premium at its listed regular price -- thereby forfeiting their initial $10 saved by buying as an EA, but saving $0-90 over buying the collector vehicles individually (after all is tallied).

I'm personally still ahead by a little after using my code because I had purchased Tank Crew on Jason's birthday flash sale in April 2021. Altogether I have "only" $62.48 invested in the Tank Crew series -- a little more than I would have normally budgeted for a game I rarely play, but in my mind justifiable for a VR diversion on random Sunday afternoons, marveling at the intricacies of AFV interiors and etc. But I do feel for EA guys who are getting a lesser break than any newcomers who are able to get Premium at the 66% discount right now. And I say that as a EA investor for Bodenplatte and Normandy who understands sometimes we have to take the lumps if we want something brought to market and enjoyed by a new generation of simmers.

The real problem is that unlike Steam, here the price does not deduct what you already own.

Personally I have TC standard that I took in EA, if I want to upgrade to the premium version, it costs me about $18 (for 4 additional collection vehicles).

Except that I already own 2 of these 4 extra vehicles and for 18$ I will have 2 new vehicles. The site is able to know what we own, it should do like Steam and deduct what we already own, this way, to get the 2 missing vehicles, I will pay about $ 9

Since we won't have a better offer, I still took the 2 missing vehicles for about 18$.

Now, if I do the math of what it cost me to own all the content of TC :

TC early access: $69.99
Sdk.fz 10/5 : $19.99
Stug III : $19.99
Upgrade to TC premium: $17.99

For a total of $127.96
Given that the exchange rate was often unfavorable, we must be at about 130€.

For the same content, a new player will pay $89.99 (excluding sales) or about 30% less or, if he takes advantage of the current sales $30.59.

Buying TC premium through Steam costs 95.55€ (excluding sales) or 41€ with sales (knowing that there is also BoS)

In my case, if I had bought everything on Steam except the 2 missing collectible vehicles. Getting them on Steam would have cost me a little more than 11.50€.

I'm glad TC premium exists, it's really a good offer for new players, it can only encourage those who were hesitating. For the future of TC, it's a real plus.

On the other hand, I would like that those who support (purchase in EA, purchase via the official website) don't have the feeling of being "tricked", even when they are given an additional promotion code.

For example, someone who owns TC on Steam, will pay about 26€ to upgrade to TC premium versus $30.59 (about 29€) for someone who gets it from the official site.

Of course, I know my purchases helped support the game so I don't regret anything, but I still wanted to clear up this situation.

Why was this only available until January 1st?  shouldn't us early adopters have had more time to take advantage of this during an expensive time at Christmas?

Yeah, that was same condition for me too. Nice deal for those who didn't buy any add=ons along the way though
