Wardog is being patient here and adding some humor into the mix.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town…Mr.Smith lurks in the shadows…

My question is, what happens when the devs will run out of unique aircraft to add? Especially on the german side, there aren't that many left... Will they include already existing aircraft and reduce the price for those who own one or more aircraft included, or will it just include old planes without taking into account people already having them? This isn't a concern about the next module, but for the near future.

That wont happend in near future, 3 years per DLC, you have 10 airplane DLC content for next two decades...SO next DLC is Korea, then after that PTO DLC, if it failed return to late war east front, if it sells more PTO... and by 10+ years maybe they improve game engine so it can do citys and roads that are so wast in Italy... they can even do Channel 43 if CloD dont do it...so your not gona run out of options for DLCs with new 10 airplanes...

Hmm... well, it has been more like 2.5 years per module, with an additional five collector planes in that period (and a Flying Circus module as well).

So if they kept on with the series at the current rate we could expect a bit over three modules and 10-15 collector planes over the next decade... which would be nice. It'd give room for '45 East, '44 Mediterranean, a Pacific land based module and maybe a 1948-1955 cold war module... as well as filling in remaining gaps.

That is assuming all of these modules would be profitable, and that the development cycle doesn't slow due to bringing in new technologies or start repeating due to re-releasing old content on a new engine (similar to how Rise of Flight was gradually ported to the newer engine for Flying Circus, and only received two completely new aircraft for the first time this year).

Honestly, I'd prefer that they went for completeness and gave us at least some of these additional modules/theatres... I would be willing to buy 'anniversary edition' upgrades of existing modules - especially if they upgraded maps and added a couple of new flyables - but I'd want them to remain compatible with the other existing modules (and be able to fly with people who don't own the upgrade online). If they broke compatibility, led to abandoning existing content, or didn't add significant improvements to maps or a couple of new flyables... I wouldn't be so happy. I found Flying Circus vol.1 and vol.2 to be a bit dry due to the relative lack of original content.

I thought just accrued to me.

They said they don't wanna overlap what team fusion are doing but we we got aircraft that are overlapping.

Agree plus with a lot of aircraft with desert skins I wouldn't mind seeing a standalone desert map.

Realistically it is one module that is left: late war with the Bf 109G-10, Fw 190A-9, Ta 152H, Ju 87D-5 and Ju 388 / Ju 88S.

While there are some more mid and early war I doubt we will see them. Early war does not seem to be very attractive to many players, except BoB, and the remaining mid war selection of German aircraft is uninspiring even for a Luftwaffe-fan. I mean, I want an A-9, because it is the best and final of BMW-powered 190s but I don't see why I would need the A-7...

My guess is they will do the late war eastern front, get closure, and then move on, possibly even to a whole new game/engine. Given it will be 2025 or so, this step would be needed either way I think.

What would be the plane set up ?

So with the leaked map area of Finland being spotted.

Here are my plane selections that could be for the next module.

Brewster F2A Buffalo

MS 410

G.50

H-75

------------------------

Fokker D.XXI

It could be anyone's guess as there little aircraft to go off but all a major important to Finnish history.

To me it seems unrealistic to assume that it will be possible in the next 10 years to repeat the il-2 GB series in whatever kind of DLC form.

10 years from now I firmly believe pc's will no longer be what they are today, surely not have windows x64 w32 API support.

If nvidia keeps doing what it did the last couple of years most people will have no other option but to pick either a standalone vr headset, a console or game on something like a steamdeck or other portable device.

IMHO Starting a new PC windows based software suite / series and hoping for it to last 10 more years may no longer prove a sound business case.

Aye we got one DLC this decade it takes roughly two years for them to make.

When they will Finnish this one it will most likely be around late 24 early 25. So we will get around three main DLC's.

Aye in ten years everything now will be like stuff from the 70-80s.

Not unless cpu's make larger gains over the next 10 than they did the last 10.

The Finland map was a community project years back...maybe it's finally being released? Not sure why people think it'll be a full module. If it is, ✌️

You are right, I too think Finland will be a community map officially added to GB, maybe even sold by their site if they will add some kind of campaign to it

By all means, make it and add it and I'll probably even buy it to support them, but please don't dedicate 3 years of official team development to it. ?

Well from last DD it seams offical team time will be dedicated to some other game, and we will be getting new collector airplanes build by players and maps build by players...no more 5v5 DLCs for GB.

Good thing for maps here is if you wont to play online and you dont have map you can, hope that stays the same with this new future for GB.

My takeaway, was that work would continue on the current series (content), while other team members work on the next generation game.

I would imagine it will take many months or longer to have the next-generation game ready to market. In the interim, they will produce new content for the current series.  This would allow them to generate revenue simultaneously while  the new series is in development (no revenue for quite a while).  This seems like a solid plan to me.

Just my opinion.

Im sad about the tank crew. It has potential and i really wanted to have new realistic WW2 tanksim.

If they are making new engine there is no hope for TC to be really improved.

So sad I will not see new WW2 tank sim in my life.

I think the frustration is due to the fact that they told us that they know what it is, they are already working on an aircraft for it.

And they teased a bunch of stuff for the next one.

A. Swimming pilots

B. No carries

C. Needs lot of resourses

D. it's not Italy

E. It's something new

F. Piston engine themed

G. Little to no cities

H. Not in the Pacific

I. It was almost gonna be Malta if Jason had his way.

J. They picked five theatres of war before deciding the final one.
