 Hello

I have updated the script I wrote for Heinkill REDUX campaign.  (One of the updates broke it)

Now, you will be able again to get your score maintained through the  campaign.

September 15 had revealed once and for all that Britain could not be brought to the negotiating table by the Luftwaffe alone.

Hitler had already realised that despite the bravado of Luftwaffe Fieldmarshall Hermann Goering, he would either need to invade Britain to force the hand of British PM Churchill, or walk away from the battlefield entirely.

He had no intention of walking away.

On September 16 he called together the chief of the army Von Rundstedt, and Grossadmiral Raeder of the navy, and advised them to initiate Operation Sealion on the night of September 21, weather permitting.

Raeder protested violently that without air superiority over the Channel and the whole of the invasion front, he would not be able to defend the fleet against British naval attack. Sustained resupply of the 9th and 16th Armies would be out of the question.

Von Rundstadt however proposed a plan in which the 16th Army alone would be embarked, and landed on a narrow front between Folkestone and Bexhill. From this beach-head they would isolate Dover, Kent, and the whole SE of England, from where they could consolidate their forces and move on London.

Goering agreed that the Luftwaffe could achieve air superiority over such a narrow front, as long as he could redirect resources away from the bombing of London, and critical airfields in Kent such as Lympne, Manston and Hawkinge could be captured as a first priority.

Hitler agreed to the von Rundstedt plan. "We do not need to defeat the whole of England," he declared, "Only one man - Winston Churchill. With our troops driving on London, his government will fall, and Britain with it."

You are joining 607 Sq RAF, a unit with a proud history.

No 607 Squadron was formed on 17 March 1930 at Usworth as a day bomber unit of the Auxiliary Air Force. The former landing ground at Hylton used during World War One was in course of preparation as the squadron's base, but it was not until September 1932 that any personnel could move to the site.

Next month a Gipsy Moth arrived to allow flying training to commence, and in December the first Wapitis were received. These were replaced by Demons.

No 607 being redesignated a fighter squadron on 23 September 1936, in December 1938 conversion to Gladiators began and these were taken to France in November 1939 to join the Air Component of the BEF.

In March 1940 Hurricanes began to arrive and within a few days of the German invasion in May had completely replaced Gladiators. A very intense period of combat began, with six or seven sorties per day for some of the squadron's pilots.

With its airfields overrun, the squadron moved back to the UK to re-equip in 13 Group in the North of Britain. When the Luftwaffe attempted to bring Luftflotte 5 in Norway and Denmark into the battle No. 607 Squadron was one of five fighter squadrons based in the north-east that intercepted this force and prevented it from doing any damage and inflicted such heavy losses on the Germans that they didn't make another daylight attack from Scandinavia during the Battle of Britain.

Later 607 moved south to defend southern England during the Battle of Britain.

There are some online events planned over the holiday season so it must be a real nightmare.
