I never really seen a reason in this sim for clickable pits. It’s damagemodel only based on timers. It is just not complex enough.
But, I think passed was based on Jason policy, wise or not.
more complex mean more money, one should think about that for a bit.
You buy a complete pack here for the price of one module in DCS or a map.
Or a well built MSFS 2020 module.
Now we are getting some new stuff, it might very well be based on DCS model if taken far enough. One year minimum wait for each plane or two?

Do you want that?

I don't think so. They were really adamant about no click-pits from the very start, before Jason took over as head honcho.

That's a rather silly attitude to keep holding onto, especially since animations are there already. This is one of the things from the old Il-2 that didn't age well. Time to move on and consider an increase in complexity, especially if it could be combined with an engine model more elaborate than the timers.

Remaking every cockpit in the sim, just to please a minority that wants DCS levels of complexity is not going to be a reality, based on the economics of it alone.  This has been discussed ad infinitum.

This is not a flight procedures study sim.  This is a tactical air combat sim.  If I wanted to pay $50 to $60 per aircraft, and wait years for each one, and maybe have one map to fly them on, and spend weeks learning the switchology for each one, I'd be flying DCS now.

I am not.

I'd welcome the complexity, but in the same breath will say:  it's certainly not the most important feature impacting immersion and re-play value of the game, for either single-player, or multi-player crowds.

I wouldn't want click pits for this series but, some small functionality adds to certain parts of cockpits would be a bonus.  For example, the cockpit canopy rails on the Yaks have notches which (IRL) allow various open/close positions for the canopy varying from full open/half open/only a few inches open.  Just for 'detail' it would be nice to see little things like that added.

Unless otherwise specified, these are HI-RES images of aircraft and vehicles in the SIM and are NOT an in-game engine render.

Let us have complex engine damage and plane structure not this. Complexity got a base it stands on.
I hope this new thing they got going have room for more complex damage model and flight model. Click pits are the last on my list

In these WWII aircraft the clickable cockpit is almost exclusively used to start up. After that it’s not much use. Over in DCS I would guess something like 75% of the players just use the auto start cheat. So why bother adding a feature, and an expensive one, if it’s not going to be used.

I know it's not likely to happen I'm this sim, but for DCS this statement is certainly not true in my case. I am using the clickable cockpits constantly.

Oh I do too. But the majority of the players don’t seem to do manual starts at all. So it’s funny to see people asking for that here.

Honestly clickable cockpits is worthless for me.Waste time with learning startup procedures for multiple planes than as new planes are available you forget the old.

I have played DCS since 2001 when it was calles Lockon .

He might not have noticed it, because you can only see it, when starting a mission in parked position, by starting the engine. Unlike the other aircrafts, the electric systems of the 190s stay turned on, when you turn off the engine. So the two covers stay closed.

Rather see a better engine damage model, fuel system overhaul, stuff like that. Engine damage similar to that in cliffs of dover would be a huge boon.
