Tommy_Atkins Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 I set it up okay before hand and every thing is okay but when I run the game my view is off centre so I press the F12 centring key but it just stays as is. It's as if the default view has somehow been skewed. How can I deal with this?
Ghost666 Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Is this in all plains or just one? If all: Try this, press and hold your "pilot head snap position: center" button (default number pad 5), press f12. this should line everything up. If just one, then you need to reset your default view for that plain.
Tommy_Atkins Posted December 14, 2022 Author Posted December 14, 2022 Thanks. How do I reset my default view?
Ghost666 Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 There are 2 ways to do reset the default view. 1) Delete the saved view in the folder "IL-2Sturmovik/data/LuaScripts/snapviews" for the plane. (Shown below for the bf109e7) When you restart the games the default view will be reset. 2) Start the game without tracker and use the keys below to recenter the view, then press f10 to save. Move pilot head forward Insert Move pilot head backward Home Move pilot head left Delete Move pilot head right End Move pilot head up Page Up Move pilot head down Page Down Good luck. 1 1
Tommy_Atkins Posted December 14, 2022 Author Posted December 14, 2022 (edited) That seems to have done the trick, many thanks Ghost!! ? I have no idea why it screwed up in the first place but at least I can deal with it if it happens again. ? Edited December 14, 2022 by Tommy_Atkins
Tommy_Atkins Posted December 15, 2022 Author Posted December 15, 2022 Is there anyway to fine tune your cockpit view? I am sure I could at one point move the default view up, down etc in small increments using certain keys although that may be another sim?

The thing to do first is to go to settings/camera from the main game menu and put the four camera movement settings to "0". This will allow you to adjust the view slooowwwly. But don't forget to return the settings to what they were. 1

Ghost666 Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Yes, by default IIRC F9 pauses tracker. That's a tracker app/program (or whatever we are calling them now) hot key.
