Plans for Early war aircraft?

Are there developer plans to add the early war aircraft like the Fokker E.III, Airco D.H.2, Nieuport 17, Sopwith Pup, etc? Also earlier 2-seaters?

I too would like to see an early war expansion come along.

The Eindeckers were great planes and would go well with a 1915-1916 campaign during the Fokker Scourge. 

 

I would also really like to see the Ilya Muromets expansion that was made for R.O.F. to be brought into the IL2 GB engine, it was very good because it was great to see the eastern front of the first world war (something very rare in ww1 flight sims) and the Ilya Muromets is a very interesting plane to fly in with its covered interior and four engines.

Technically,  that's 'not at this time', but still reason to be optimistic I'd have thought.

That was my understanding as well, although haven't seen any "official" announcement or mention in quite a while.  There's still several ROF planes to port over, so... hoping they complete the job and do an FC3 at least with the remaining ROF planes.

I think as for FC3 it is the same as with TC , if contractors are interested in making them it will happen.

Not at this time? Looks like we'll have to wait until more important stuff is done, high priority things like more Bf109s. Nieuport 11 would be so far out of sight as to be invisible.

Yeah but how many 109's would they sell compared to N11's ?

It was hard enough getting people into EIII's and the other early crates when RoF still had a solid customer base.

If we get an FC3 I'd expect that'll be the last one, so perhaps Pup, N17, Alb DIII.. but I doubt we'll see anything earlier.

Crowd funding? I reckon I've done a bit of that already when I pre-ordered BoP and Normandy, which I hardly use. Mostly I fly WW1 Central and when I fly WW2 it's Soviet planes. The contractors don't come into the this as earlier planes would RoF planes anyway.

If you want new plane, anybody with talent or money can make 3d model and devs said they will integrate it in the game. They are open for that kind of collaboration.

Well, not exactly - they said they are open to being contacted by potential modellers or 3rd parties... which is a bit different.  They models would have to meet pretty strict requirements and they'd probably also check projects for their commercial viability for approving them (they do, after all, have to spend a lot of their own money/labour programming the models and integrating them into the game)!

Well...  that's true.  But for all we know, they could be working on it simultaneously with the remaining FC2 missions, maps, etc..

We now know that FC career mode will be implemented in the game update next month. If this generates enough new sales, and I think it should, the devs goal is to fully reproduce the RoF planeset. So the early birds are perhaps not just a hopeful dream anymore but leaning towards reality. Fingers crossed.
