I posted this in the TS forum:

Just installed TS3 on a new build (TS3 has worked fine on my old build).
When I try to set the PTT hotkey from my HOTAS, it recognizes it but when I hit Enter (or left mouse) to save it it always adds +enter (or +left mouse button) to the selection.

Any suggestions? Can hotkeys be manually edited in one of the files? If so, where and which file.

There were similar posts going way back through 2020. This was the general response from TS:

Joystick and Gamepad support is not included yet. We are working on that.

I have no Idea why it was working fine on the old machine.

I can set a single press on any keyboard key but that means I have to remove my hand from the throttle or joystick and hunt for that key while in VR. That's not gonna be an option for me. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll have to use VAC from now on

You can use a utility like JoyToKey and emulate a keypress which then you bind to Teamspeak.

Tried it. Hotas button confirmed pressing "Q" button. "Q" mapped to PTT in TS. Not working in TS.

There's a thread in the TS forum that goes back to May 2022 regarding this issue. Multiple people have the same problem. TS has not fixed. They still say it's a hardware issue but all other programs like Discord and SRS work fine. I'm really pissed with TS Devs response (or lack of).

Odd. That's how I got it mapped yet it works for both normal PTT and whisper with a different button. TS is a finicky beast; quite annoying that they never got around to fixing the official controller support.

I downloaded TS3 (64 bits) now and no issue for assign (VKB Gladiator Mk.II) joystick button (#2) for PTT.

Just click in the PTT field, press joystick button and is assigned, don't need mouse click or press Enter. Just click "Apply" latter for save the changes.

Configuration file is located in

...:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\TS3Client > Settings.db

But is in machine code.

Here is the thread on the TS forums. The picture in the first post is exactly what happens for me. Initially, it will recognize my HOTAS button press but the gray window never goes away. Therefore, ANY keyboard or mouse press will be added to the hotkey.

I looked at that file but there's nothing I can do since I don't know coding. Do you have any ideas?

That's what I do for discord PTT and that's what I did before when I was still using TS... always worked fine for me.

Joystick 2, Button 2 is my WH throttle's mic-switch - so set up like this, I can use both that switch and my keyboard's INS key to trigger PTT.

Added bonus (and the main reason why I'm doing this) is that now Discord's PTT won't get triggered when I push my flightstick's/Joystick 1's button 2. Discord seems unable to distinguish between two different joystick-devices.
