NormandieNiemen Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Hello everyone, Just wanted to check if someone had the same problem ? I currently have a campaign with IL-2 mod42 during Stalingrad, i'm not a flying leader because I want to progress on a realitsic way but I do have a problem ... When a mission come to attack ground units or a convoy i'm the only one doing it ... most of the time the tohers just fire all rockets into the sky or drop all bombs randomly ... making me the only one to do the job, i'Ve tried to lead one flight with 4 others but same happened when I ordered "target the closest ground target" ... they do nothing expect running in circle with AA butchering them ... Anyone got an idea ? 1
FodderMonkey Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Playing HS-129 campaign in the stock "career" mode and I'm getting this same issue, but not all the time. I think it's likely an AI issue.
UlyssesCockmore Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 I've found it's best not to use the AI order system at all, as this seems to break their behaviours somehow. Instead, I let them do their thing to the best of their ability without interrupting whatever flow is happening behind the scenes and they usually do well enough including in ground attack. In short - don't try and use the AI commands, let them follow the mission as they understand it, and things work well. The same goes for issuing attack air orders - this causes the AI to hold in formation for some reason from what I've seen. 1

Well ... as i said i'm not the flying leader so I follow them without making anything but once we come to the attack position they juste fly for 2 minutes then drops everything they got into the sky and go back home ... I've made 10 missions so far and only 1 out 10 was everyone attacking ...
R33GZ Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Have you opened the mission in the editor to see what the actual target should be? It could be that the actual targeted entity has already been destroyed and you are the only one mopping up extras in the target area... just a guess I had to fix a pwcg mission yesterday. It was a train attack and I couldn't for the life of me find the bloody thing. When I opened up the mission in the editor I found the target train wasn't even on the tracks and was hiding behind a building under some trees - all scared of my big bad P38 ?
