Any CH Products pro throttle users here? I've got two questions for you.....

I can't get my CH gear to work without calibrating it in CH Control manager.   If I don't do that the stick is really wild and completely useless.

Is there someway around using the Control Manager?   I know someday it's just going to stop working and CH is not going to fix it.

Also....  is there a way to get the mini-joystick on the Pro Throttle to be the 'look around' controller (instead of the mouse).

Thanks for any comments.

I have used the same CH gear since 2002, and I have never used the Control Manager program. I always calibrate in windows, but it never needs it more than once if I build a new computer.  I assign all the axis and buttons in game.

Never tried the mini joystick for looking around as I use Track IR.  I did try it for elevator trim long ago, but it really isn't good for that.

When I did the calibration routine in Windows it didn't work at all.   Joystick was totally wonky till I calibrating in Control Manager.

I rarely have to calibrate the joystick, and if I do I do it in the CH CM, works perfectly for me. I might have to click on "rescan" sometimes so that my devices are recognized properly. Never tried using the mini-joy for views...

I needed to calibrate in CH manager in Windows 7. In Windows 10 I didn't.

I used CH joystick for several years; my expereince was similar to yours.  I had to calibrate the stick using that blasted software anytime I pulled the connections for whatever reason (I also had CH pedals).  Calibration was all I ever really figured out with certainty on that blasted tool; lucky for me I got that far.  I got real pedals a few years ago (crosswinds - which I'll never need to replace) and shortly after finally ditched the CH stick (which is sitting collecting dust as a back up) and bought a $30 MSFFB online used and wonder why I didn't do that years ago.  My next stick will be a Virpil with extension and low hanging desk mount clamp.  I'll never need to replace that either.

Best of luck.

I'd think about VKB Baeumer.

My Virpils' bomb trigger broke off the other week, and a couple of 'hat' positions are a bit iffy.

I think VKB might be a little more robust, if not more expensive.
