Ballamjustposted Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Just getting into IL-2 and I'd like to buy Bodenplatte directly from the IL-2 website (i.e. here). It relies on owning Sturmovik Stalingrad, as I understand it, which I bought/installed on Steam. The cart says, "A keyless non-Steam product." So does that mean it won't work unless I have a version of Stalingrad from the IL-2 store, or does it act as standalone or maybe DLC for the Steam version I already own?
Bogdan_Ene Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 (edited) If you bought IL2:BOS on Steam in order to play you must use an account registered on the official website. With that account you can buy any IL-2 GREAT BATTLES SERIES product from the official website and after you will launch the game wou will find that product there doesen't matter wherever you will launch the game from the steam or from the standalone version. Skycat1969 Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 The quick answer is "yes" it will work with Steam Edition. You'll have to register your Steam account to your web store profile. Instructions how to do that are in the red manual available here: One advantage of buying the "DLC" here is you can also play it as a standalone version without Steam, in case Steam is down or something. It's also handy to have two installs if you are a painter or modder.
Ballamjustposted Posted December 7, 2022 Author Posted December 7, 2022 Briliant, thank you both for the clear answers. Looks like I've missed the sale, but I'll keep my eye out for the next one.
