Hi guys,

I've been looking for a very long time now for a RAF 322 (Dutch) squadron repaint for the Spitfire Mk. IX. I still haven't found one, so a request from me:

Can somebody make a skin for the Mk. IX of the 322 Dutch squadron while it was still in RAF service?

Kind regards ?

I hate to be that guy, but the black walk-way line on the upper wing surfaces shouldn't run over the roundels, sorry.

That's somewhat of a moot point is that. Both the roudels and the tech stencils were applied at Factory before delivery. The tech stencils are exactly that, tech stencils and so unless the roudels were re-painted after the fact (due to wear or weathering or something) then they would have acommodated said stencils. Squadron codes and other such 'post-manufacture' applications would have obscured some of the technical stuff. Of course, there are always exceptions to everything though.

EDIIT: It seems you've opened up a whole can of worms here!
I think it would probably be fair to say that in the case of technical stencils they would have been applied lastly, only because of the number of different marks of (particularly) the Spitfire and it's different wing-types and stuff like radiators and such and the need for Groundcrews to be aware of such things when 'in the field'.

At the same time, who was to say that there weren't MANY exceptions to this order, particularly with the upscaling in production and the different places of manufacture.

To summarize, I think we're both correct and also both incorrect!!

These kind of worms are for fishing, or phishing? Now what's the catch one wonders.

But the Font above for the sq code, what is it? I have looked through my by now quite large collection, but could not find it sofar.

Particularity the 3 seems different than all the British RAF fonts i have collected at least.

That's looking good so far!! I'm quite pleased with the font used. I've been looking for more pictures, but it looks like there were just a handful of pictures made in the period with Mk. IX's.

Edit: just found this one of the specific aircraft 3W-K
