hek4te Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Hi, I found last week the Thrustmaster TCA single stick for 45% off and got 2 of them. They are essentially identical to the T16000m. I was wondering if you have any recommendations to go about setting up the left stick as a throttle and what else would be useful to have for the left stick's buttons, left/right, twists? So far I have found out that a program called "Joystick Gremlin" could make the Y axis act as a throttle (increase only when stick moves forward, remain until stick goes back to middle and decrease when you pull back) while setting curve sensitivity too. Any thoughts and ideas? Thank you.
354thFG_Drewm3i-VR Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Sell one and buy the thrustmaster twcs hotas.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) Two joysticks are good for space sim not flight sim , buy hotas and rudder, you will enjoy the game much more. If you don't want spend that much money buy game pad, i know very good player using it with good results. Edited November 30, 2022 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk
TG-55Panthercules Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Wouldn't two sticks be a pretty good setup for controlling tanks?

I thought I will start playing a lot more space games but realised I really want to get into iL-2 more these days. So I got the TWCS throttle too that found on sale today. Thread resolved 4me. 1Sascha Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Unless we're talking about the VKB Gladiator Evo, which is designed to be turned into a throttle (you can lock the X-axis mechanically, remove the Y-axis' spring and then use the adjustable clutch on Y to get the right feel/resistance), I'd agree that a second stick for your left hand isn't what you want in this sim. The TWCS would be a better choice by far. Just don't expect anything earth-shattering when it comes to feel of the throttle axis on the TWCS. It's a decent enough product for the price and offers plenty of functions, but unless you sink another 30 or 40 bucks into it for a slider-mod, you'll probably find the throttle axis' behavior a bit frustrating... I know I did, even after I re-greased it with Nyogel. S.
