dbuile Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Demonstration of a working Blind Landing System put through paces via its test device, highlighting individual working elements in turn. It's super cool hearing the actual sounds... The test table mounting says Fu Bl 2 F, the "F" designating a 33 channel FBG 2 "Fernbedienung"/Remote rotary-dial switching unit. There's also a HBG 2 "Handbedienung" 34-channel unit. While wiki states the FuBl 2 F is for single seater operation, that might not be accurate? "Remote" units allow operation of systems residing elsewhere in the aircraft, but maybe wrong to interpolate anything more. For example, a "remote" unit allows a pilot to select what they hear in headphones (for example, intercom versus navigation beacons), but this can still can be a multi-crew situation, where the pilot selection (apparently) only interacts with how the Bordfunker directly routes the radio receivers; so I'm unsure the inclusion of a FBG2 signifies a single-seater installation as wiki insinuates. 1
