Pietman Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 I want to see if there's a way to do low-level bombing in Flying Circus. So far I can't find any setting that will allow bombs to detonate if they are dropped below about 550 feet. In Rise of Flight they would detonate from any altitude.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) set bombs time to 5s Edited November 27, 2022 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk
RNAS10_Mitchell Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) Anyone know if they intend to revisit bomb timers for a fix? Or if the 5 sec only option is by design? Edited November 27, 2022 by RNAS10_Mitchell
Zooropa_Fly Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Yeah blowing yourself up was always great banter. Bring it back ! 1

czech693 Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 I played around with it a few weeks back. In the main folder in data/(null)/luascripts/worldobjects/explosions/bombs I found a bomb with these parameters, he_317mm_113kg_50kg_ground.txt (or building.txt., object.txt, or water.txt). I figured that was the 112 lb bomb and that 113kg was not right. 112 lb is close to 50 kg and 317mm is close to the 112 lb bomb diameter. Anyway, in those files is the line LiveTime=7 (or 6). I assume that was a fuse activation time. l tried smaller numbers until I got to 0.01 at which point I was able to get a detonation from about 200 - 300 ft using the default fuse setting (not contact). I've got a .trk showing it but I don't know how to attach it since I can't seem to copy it from within the sim. 1
