Broadside Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Since BoS is based on the DN engine that RoF uses, I've got a couple of questions about some of the limitations of the DN engine that RoF has run into: (these questions are primarily based on Single Player as I have little to no interest in MP): 1-- Will there be a Single Player campaign? Not like RoF, which is a series of missions connected together with no story/little background/etc, but an actual campaign more like Red Baron 3D? 2 -- Will the AI be smarter than the RoF AI (which is mostly poor, and no real challenge)? 3 -- Will the AI be based on new programming or a reusing of the RoF AI (obviously something has to be done, since these are faster airplanes and have much different mechanics, but just changing these and not making the AI smarter and having more options means basically the same AI)? 4 -- Will FM reviews be made if needed, or will the released planes be "as is". Thanks! Broadside 1
Broadside Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Anyone have any idea on these questions? There must be some information on these subjects, as they are pretty much deal breakers for single player pilots.

Thanks! Broadside the DN engine is an upgrade in IL2, eventually the ROF will get the DN 2.0 upgrade. watch the Hooves video. http://youtu.be/MFf1kIw5ulk Edited July 27, 2013 by Mastiff
Broadside Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 read thru most of the forum Sure seems this'll be a fun sim (I'm a biplane fan, and hated IL-2....loaded it, patched it, deleted it same day). I'm still on the fence....just dont know what the sp campaign will be about (dynamic, or static, missions connected to each other like RoF--which isnt much fun--or a campaign that has some life to it). I'm a real believer in the 777 boys, just not 1C If I knew this would benefit RoF, then it'd be a no brainer.
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Jason said the improvements made to the DN engine for BOS should filter down to ROF.

Bussard_x Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Check development updates 20 and 21 to learn more about the campaign
StG2_xgitarrist Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I think LOFT said in some interview (maybe the one on youtube) that FM wont be changed, just minor corrections if needed. They are trying to get them as right as possible for the release.
