Another stupid question from a recently returned player.

Have both Battle of Stalingrad & Normandy on my PC

Multiple problems related to new install of Normandy purchased & downloaded from the IL-2 website - went about it the wrong way.

Plan to delete all IL-2 files from the PC & start from scratch - have installed a 2nd SSD in the PC where I would like to place all my game files.

After doing so, what is the best method to reinstall IL-2 & the 2 Battles on my PC?

Thanks for any advice!

there are more things to backup, like swf\users missions and campaigns, startup.cfg  to name a few

Thanks for all the tips.

Is there a reference document which would show the location of the IL-2 Sturmovik GBs files & what each means to the program?

AFAIK i know the official manual has some information, but alas except for Jim-TMs privately made 3rd party ME editor,

the manuals are quite unsatisfactory in regards of file and folder properties. That's my personal  opnion !

The manuals are meant to tell the player how to play the game, not to give some deep-level analysis of the game's file structure.

Agreed...but whoever there is a problem related to a config file etc it is a little difficult to figure out how to go into the file structure to fix it unless you are a bit of a PC/Windows nerd...which a lot of us are not!

It would be nice to have a reference document of the file structure to lead the way!

Especially tips on what to backup at times when updates come around the bend.

But Luke's manual is a nice Take Off (command) for a general IL2 newt, as i was 4 years ago.
