please help. I have just bought a new computer running on windows 11. Although the program IL*2  seems to download ok it will not run. I am stuck in the hanger going round and round the plane Thank you Walkingarmy55

Hi, Walking Army, hope you're doing well.

 

If you purchased "Cliffs of Dover" but not "Cliffs of Dover - Blitz", then you'll need to upgrade your game up to the Blitz edition (no worries, it is free update). If you purchased the add-on "Desert Wings - Tobruk" then you'll need the basic game "Cliffs of Dover - Blitz" (10 US bucks, thus not an expensive problem, but you'll get 94 aircraft insteand of "only" 47).

 

To be more precise, the fact is that I don't know what "IL-2" game you're talking about. There are three generations of IL-2s (2001, 2011 and 2013), so please be sure you clicked on the correct tab in the navigation menu in the present forums:

 

 

 

Two more comments:

 

If you purchased "IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946" normally it should work with a W11... so go the 1946 tab and ask the '46 experts there.

 

Maybe you purchased a "Great Battles" product. If such is the case, the following chart will help you to identify it:
