Any way to enable Tank Crew on Steam if I bought here?

I bought Tank Crew on this site and would now like to take advantage of the massive discount on Steam if I buy the extra vehicles, but it doesn't show that I own Tank Crew, even though I already do?  It would be a real kick in the teeth to those of us that bought it on the site to support the developers, only to now have to pay full price for all the other vehicles.  Or is there a way to get the discounted price on the site for all the vehicles if we already own Tank Crew?

HI, I have the same question and opened additional a ticket to support.

Link your Steam account to your web account and Tank Crew will be 'unlocked' in your Steam version.

If I understand correctly there is the possiblity that Steam recognizes modules you have. In case of bundles you can save money because owned DLC are substracted. But the DLC`s that are bought on the webshop are not listed in Steam and so the original bought Tank crew cant be recognized.

On the 1C Webshop here there is the pre owned tank crew version not substracted from the bundle. There seems to be no chance of recognizing pre owned DLC`S.

Additionally its even more expensive to buy in the webhop for me. When I buy in the webshop the premium edition it costs 35.99$. In case of Paypal payment and exchange costs it will be more than 35€ for me. On Steam its 34,84€ and steam will also earn money, that sounds not 100% ok.

Its not about unlock the DLC in the game, that is unlocked and working.. Its about to have the dlc listed in steam to may get additional discount for bundles because of recognizing pre owned content.

My answer was directed to OP.

Carlos_K, Steam only tracks content purchased on Steam. The web store only sbows content purchased at the web store.  The two platforms sell content differently. The only crossover is that that your web purchases can be used in the Steam version; however the Steam DLC can't be used with the web launcher version of the game. This is further complicated by the fact you can't buy content you own on Steam a second time to use exclusively in the web launcher version. (My Steam version is complete but my web version is missing Stalingrad, Flying Circus Vol. 1, and some Collector Planes.)

You'll notice that the Tank Crew bundle on Steam is actually itemized DLC while the new web store Premium version is a single product. It appears that we who own the web version of Tank Crew can 'upgrade' with the four Collector Vehicles for a small savings right now over buying them as individual items. I appreciate the discount but it does kind of suck that previous owners who bought TC through the web store -- and who I'll argue are TC's base customers -- get a dirty deal on this.

No, what they need to do is give discounts the same way Steam does by giving credit for previous purchases.  I can 'see' Stalingrad in my Steam account, but not Tank Crew.  I get why it's that way, but it doesn't make it any better.  The moral of the story seems to be don't buy from the IL2 site as you'll get much better deals on Steam when they do bundles.  That's not the message they should be sending.  I don't want to hear that it 'can't be done' either...that's nonsense.  ED (DCS) for years said they couldn't do this and that (bundles, free trials, etc), yet somehow they magically figured out how to do it.

Why don't you buy here?  https://il2sturmovik.com/store/tank-crew/

Uh, because I already own Tank Crew and it's about $25 more expensive for me to buy it again.  Did you not read that in my original post?  What I'll do is just buy nothing instead.  Tank Crew isn't exactly getting any better with updates (i.e. a proper single player experience), so they really should be almost giving it away at this point.

No - we need a Steam FAQ just like I said. Reoccurring, over and over and over again, Ground Hog Day, Steam questions are not just about discounts. People can’t seem to use the search function.

Agreed, but I do not know enough about Steam to even be dangerous. Much less put together a FAQ topic.

I will need to run this through the marketing guys that deal with Steam. But that won't happen until Sunday night/ Monday morning when they get in.

Steam forums are just full of angry, ill informed people. I am one of them.

LOL.  I say this to every 'forum cop' that has an issue with questions being asked more than once...if you don't like it, stay out of the forum!  We don't need your scolding, bud.  Moderator, please close down every thread where any question has ever been asked more than once as it annoys this guy...?

I bought the Il-2 base games during a Steam sale. If I knew the price and game delivery were the same, I may have purchased it here. Steam isn't all that great but I have a bunch of other games there. Anyway, I came to these forums shortly thereafter and was gifted a plane(which is my favorite, so thanks again). This collector plane shows up in the Steam game, but not as DLC on the store pages. I'm not 100% sure on what the policy is, so I only buy Il-2 stuff on Steam.

I went through something like this with DCS. I had the game on my PC and bought some expensive planes during the Steam sale. They switched policy and the the Steam codes were no longer accepted, adios $$$. My personal opinion would be to make the Steam/il2sturmovik.com relationship as clear as possible.

Thanks for your support and have a nice day.

The Steam/il2sturmovik.com relationship is pretty clear, although admittedly a bit hard to find:

- Steam purchases only show up in the Steam base game (which is always BoS). If you buy something on Steam (e.g. a collector plane), there's no way to use it in the game bought from il2sturmovik.com.*

- Purchases from il2sturmovik.com show up in both the game bought from il2sturmovik.com as well as the Steam base game, as long as you've linked your Steam account.

* The reason for this is apparently that Steam doesn't allow third-party vendors to access who bought what because of privacy legislation. This means that the version bought from il2sturmovik.com has no way to know which products you bought from the Steam store.

However, the web store already knows what DLC I own on Steam via the linked accounts. I've tried to buy a web store version of Stalingrad to complete my non-Steam collection and it isn't allowed. Same goes for my Collector Planes and Flying Circus Vol. 1 that I bought on Steam.

Seems they've seen the error in their ways and are offering a sizeable discount promo code to those of us that bought it here.  It's still costing me $31 CAD for the 4 vehicles (some of which I'll probably never play), but I bought it anyways because they listened and did the right thing.
