I just did a C-47 paratrooper drop into Normandy in VR and WOW! That is what came to mind. It gave me a little more respect for what the troop carrier pilots faced that night (without the fear of death, of course), but as far as staying with your group and dropping with them, and how stressed I got just playing a video game. Very immersive. While I was letting my copilot take us off the DZ (autopilot) I started thinking how cool it would be to tow a glider, and maybe even be the glider pilot in the future. Maybe not feasible, or wanted by many, but a cool thought I had, and just thought I'd throw it out there.

 

One thing I remembered about multi engine planes is that there is no ENG. 1 or ENG.2 feather option, which would be nice as well.

 

Anyway, great job to the IL2 team, and thanks for keeping it interesting!

If you need to feather a specific engine, select that engine then press the feather combo.

Yes I knew you could do that, but it would be nice to just be able to assign a button. Not a big deal in the end, just a small gripe I had.

+1 on the specific feathering key for engine #1 and #2

 

You can have independent throttle rpm and mixture for heach engine in an independent axis, but on arguably one of thre most critical moments, you have to do a mini keyboard dance to feather a damaged engine.

 

PS: I know it can be done. I have done it many times. But a specific #1 and #2 feathering key would be nice.
