They are regular light weapons openings (never ever used thanks to the pilots that glue them or forbidden the passengers to use them)

It'd be nice if they were optional to better simulate a civilian version... but I appreciate the efforts at detail in any case.

Here's "That's All, Brother". Apparently she participated in the Normandy invasion (see the Wikipedia article) and she was recently restored supposedly following a look that is similar to her D-Day livery:
