nynek Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 It'd be nice to know how preorders are doing. If possible please include sale numbers in the next friday update. nynek The Premium here
JtD Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I'm curious as well. I hope it is not classified information.
Jason_Williams Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Sorry guys. We won't be releasing sales numbers. Jason
76SQN-J0NJ0N Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Any clues? We don't need exact numbers. Are things going as expected?
71st_AH_Hooves Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Any clues? We don't need exact numbers. Are things going as expected? Just curious. Did you pre order??
Zorin Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Sorry guys. We won't be releasing sales numbers. Jason I wouldn't have released any as well, cause it will only lead to this BS: "You already sold 5000 Premium preorders, that is like 450.000$!!! Why is plane xyz not in game yet, you could hire a million modellers for that kind of cash!!!...."
Freycinet Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Which company in the whole world would share that kind of info? :-)
ATAG_Slipstream Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Which company in the whole world would share that kind of info? :-) https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ Crowd funding though No, I wouldn't do it either
Zorin Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Which company in the whole world would share that kind of info? :-) Well, they have to have their books "public", which is why everyone knows about the "interesting" business methods of Wargaming, for example. Though you need to know where to look to find the info, which is hardly worth the bother to most poeple, I guess. All I hope is that, unlike Wargaming, they are not registered as a Nicosia (Cyprus) based company, just becaue all Russian money went there in the past
Hunziker Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Can't ask this type of question chaps-commercially sensitive information. However,I think personally that it is going better than even the development Team could have imagined.
JtD Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 There are many companies that release sales numbers, many distributors that do. It's nothing unheard of. There are also many that don't, it's a matter of company policy. Does Steam publish sales figures?
slm Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 War Thunder recently announced they have 3 million players. Not the same as people who have bought the game, but tells something about their popularity.
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 War Thunder recently announced they have 3 million players. Not the same as people who have bought the game, but tells something about their popularity. well I would be suspicious as to that as you can have multiple accounts..
Uufflakke Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 War Thunder recently announced they have 3 million players. Not the same as people who have bought the game, but tells something about their popularity. That is what War Thunder say about their own game. But is it really true? well I would be suspicious as to that as you can have multiple accounts.. But still. Let's say everyone has 3 accounts for War Thunder, it means 1million players. Not that bad I would say. Are there any reliable numbers for the amount of customers over the years for all versions of IL-2? Just curious.
FuriousMeow Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I'm one of those War Thunder accounts. I don't play it at all anymore. 1
SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I'm also one of the account's. Installed it and left it alone after that.
saf Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) Im also one of the WT accounts. On a week-end total online round 33.376 last time I checked before I added this reply, round 450 in FRB, 2100 in HB and little over 16000 in Arcade. Round 2200 in Costum Battles and rest just loged on and do some chat. I have two accounts. They have served 3 milions players (or accounts) and some left. Edit: Nothing the BOS team should be thinking about - the FRB players who are simmers will look to BOS. Edited July 29, 2013 by saf
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) look at the youtubes 1c IL2 Sturmovik trailer, likes over 20,000 so acctually prbably more have seen it just didnt click on like. Im going to go out on a limb and guestamate sales over the weekend where better than expected... I just hope the guys at 1C see it that way. Considering the genre . Edited July 30, 2013 by Mastiff
Heywooood Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) i think they are realising a second wind - initial drop of the preorder offer - bump slow realization among the doubters and CloDers over the next week or so, that this is a different and better managed development crew will lead to second and sustained - BUMP I think 777 1CGS will be pleased - or I should say I hope so - around second week of August...if the preorder deal is still on ..and then its September - very soon after that when all the Preemies are posting their screenies and chirping about how AWESOME it is and how they're so glad they jumped on it and paid the 90 dollars right away and the poor Standarders and wait n seers are all CRYING in their beer about why o why didn't I just do it when I had the chance!?? oh yeah - thats happening that'll be the third BUMP ...can I upgrade my Standard purchase to Premium? - is that a thing I can do ? That sounds about right and fairly logical from a product sales standpoint. I'm of the cautious but thinking of doing the Standard purchase mindset.
TheBlackPenguin Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I see the 3 million subscribers release from WT purely for what it is, marketing and I bet it works to a degree as people will think, "Wow 3 million players, this game must be good", never mind the fact that its actually accounts and is counting those who created an account and may not have played much, if at all, however I admit I did try it again on FRB, but was duly disappointed. I might play it again simply on arcade with the mouse and treat it as an arcade game. On the positive, maybe WT and World of Warplanes will attract more people to try the more realistic simulators available? And that is a good thing if we get more people into BOS/ROF etc.
[JG54]Vyper Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 3 million players, yet only 100 people on the FRB queue. arghhhhhh... i really want to give that game a go, but having to wait 30+ minutes to find a game who lasts for 15 minutes, is a bummer...... And your Mig-3 gets destroyed by a F4U. I want FRHistoricalB. I had hopes that game would be good for my flying itch...but I can't wait that long in the queue system it's abhorred.
Heywooood Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 rofls...really? thats a thing that happens in FuRBs?
LLv34_Flanker Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 S! Stopped WT after they released the charts they are using for Russian planes. Go figure.
OneEyedBob Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I'm one of those War Thunder accounts. I don't play it at all anymore. Same
[JG54]Vyper Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 rofls...really? thats a thing that happens in FuRBs? Ya. They had Country vs Country on a set map for a period of time...like 10 days/2 weeks. In that example, it was US vs USSR in a mock Korea type arrangement. I was flying Soviet because I had a bunch of time invested already, plus working towards the Mig-15 was a goal. The mission matching is where the failure is...a T4 AC included fighting a T7-T11 aircraft. Not as fun as you think it may be.It's a real shame, because that game is really nice to look at and has a bunch of eye candy. But if you aren't willing to fly with a mouse, it just isn't worth my time.
leitmotiv Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) in WT in Historical or FRB there is nothing Real or Historical happening, its just cuntry vs cuntry, with some map area named to real places, a.k.a Korea and you see i-16 vs F4F and so on... Historical LOL same in FRBs (you have icons because people dont know how to destinguis airplanes frend or enemy). Just because they have name Historical they cant full people, or maybe they can... Just becaus someone shows me banana and says its apple, one should know better and see what it really is Edited July 30, 2013 by Yaklover

Heywooood Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 lol - I barely have enough time for this forum...and Sim-outhouse...and DCS....and SimhQ...and flying FSX...and DCS...and Rise of Flight....and working at my j o b...in roughly that order...
71st_AH_Hooves Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) S! Stopped WT after they released the charts they are using for Russian planes. Go figure. I got to try the LAgg-3 in a more complex environment recently (Track IR and Pedals) and I can tell you They model that thing to a T, or should I say to a fault lol, it was EXTREMELY difficult to get my guns on a 109. But man the feeling of satisfaction was 10x when I finally got the kill, just a side note: it is AMAZING to watch an injured aircraft try to keep it in the air after large important flying parts go missing, then to see them say "F it" and bail is chillingly realistic. Straight from the stories from the "DogFight" series.. very cool lol - I barely have enough time for this forum...and Sim-outhouse...and DCS....and SimhQ...and flying FSX...and DCS...and Rise of Flight....and working at my j o b...in roughly that order... Sim Outhouse? Ive not seen that sight. I should have been posting the videos there too! Ill look it up. EDIT: I didnt see a single word posted over there about BoS. Saw lots of threads about "other" games, Figured I wouldnt stir the pot. Edited July 31, 2013 by Hooves
