Sandmarken Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Hello! I have made a 6 mission campagin where you fly as a RAF pilot during the last days of winter 1944. The campaign is not historical, but its theme is opperation argument or big week as it was known. Real big week happend with heavy bombers hitting targets in Germany while this campagin uses medium bombers and the channel map. If someone else wants to make a more historic big week campagin I can change the name of this! ? You wil need the battle of bodenplatte and normandy dlc for this campagin. I have borrowed some assets and groups from the group sharing corner and syn_vander so thank you to all of them. Sandmarken BigWeek.7zip 4 7

Merci Hello, the file is a 7zip file. The 7zip program can be downloaded for free from here: https://www.7-zip.org/ Im pretty sure winrar also lets you do it. If not let me know and I wil upload a new version ?
Ulricus Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 (edited) Sandmarken, thx again for this campaign. Great job, even that you mentioned, that this was one of your first attempts. I like the story lines of your campaign missions (alternating and often bear a suprise - haven't done ballon busting since RoF ). The few shortcomings (maps, markings) didn't spoil the fun I had - and your later campaigns are more perfect in these respects. Played now the first 3 Skyroads Missions and it looks like that you are true to your story line style - alternating challenges! ? Edited April 10, 2024 by Ulricus

Im very happy to hear you enjoy the campaigns. My goal with the campaigns is always to make something that is different than the career mode and still be close to history so im happy you like them! 1
KodiakJac Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Hi Sandmarken, On the 3rd mission "Armed Recon" my three Spitfire wingmen spin out doing ground loops until they crash when trying to take off. Why is this happening? Thanks!

I haven't tried the campaign since I made it, and that was back in 2022. 🙂 It was the first one I made, and I didn't really know what I was doing back then. 😅 1

Correct, the wind speed has to be 3mps or less at ground level or you will get errors taking off and landing with many types of planes. Spitfires and Mosquitos ground loop even without wind sometimes. This has been occurring since the Spitfires were released and it has never been fixed completely. The Ai has trouble correcting for the torque.

From all my research making campaigns, it seems losses due to accidents were always high, so maybe it's a feature and not a bug 😅
KodiakJac Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Turns out I did it to myself with the Spitfires. I gave them 150 grade fuel, which apparently, they couldn't handle at take-off. When I put them back on regular fuel, they took off just fine. 🙂 1

Falcon41 Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Sandmarken, When I download the campaign all I get is a music file, no mission files.

It's a zip file that needs to be extracted either with WinRAR or 7-Zip or another program made for that purpose. There should be no music included in the file. 🙂

The P-38 lightning will not land if the wind is over 3mps either. I had to reduce the wind in the LS Campaign. That may be part of the current problem in many of the scripted campaigns right now where the AI will not land, but I am traveling and do not have access to my simulator computer right now to test it. There may also be some other new problem.

It is, I particularly liked a part in one mission where the player attacked a train with rockets and a 5 mps crosswind over the target. The wind would affect the flight of the rockets and they would curve on their way down making it very difficult to hit the train. I like to use storm clouds, rain and turbulence to create gloomy atmosphere when it is called for, but some people apparently really hate the turbulence feature. Either it makes them nauseous in VR or it makes hitting their target too difficult for their liking. To me it’s just adding an extra dose of reality to the missions 1

I have not altered the downloadable file since I first uploaded it and never received this feedback. Something could have been altered on the webpage, and maybe a bug changed the file? I'm not at home for a few days, but I can take a look when im back home.

I opened one in the ME and it looked normal there too. 1
Falcon41 Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 (edited) Sandmarken & Jag, Thanks for the replies, but the problem was mine as I was unfamiliar with WinZip. I've successfully downloaded the campaign. Thanks again. Falcon41 Edited June 23, 2024 by Falcon41 Correction to comment 1 1
